This poem, I See the Seafoam, follows the tidal wave from the sea and as it comes ashore to deliver what is best and worst of the sea to the land. Nicely shaped scene of this devastation.

I loved your perspective on this poem, Thomas. It tells of a catastrophic happening from the eyes of the destruction. I enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing. It's creative and engaging. Best, JohnC

You have creatively given the tsunami life. Using personification, waves grab onto the earth using wet arms to scrape grains of sand. Your descriptions provide provocative imagery of the rage and devastation of a tsunami.

Very creative and original take on a tsunami from the ocean's point of view. The wave is as much a victim as the person caught onshore. The pull of the moon and cracking of the ocean floor has the power and the control. Nicely done!

Free verse is one of my favourite forms of poetry, so I'm able to recognise a wonderful poem that flowed beautifully with such an enticing, sensual, serious subject wrapped within the lines.
A delight to read.

A highly descriptive poem of the ocean with strong imagery evoking all sense. I love the metaphor of the arms reaching out to the shore, scraping the sand. I wonder if that metaphor could continue into the final stanza? Perhaps reaching into the homes and streets? Great use of alliteration and internal rhyme. I wonderful if "salt goodbyes, salty eyes" might be better as "salty goodbyes, salty eyes?" It feel better to me when I say it out loud and I like the repetition but up to you. Keep up the passion for writing you have great poetic ideas.

nicely done. I like the images, and the flow. I like the last stanza the best
But one day, in Lituya Bay,
The cycle ends another way.
An uprising of dreamers
With tough, seismic schemers,
Devastate systems and shores,
Wisdoms and floors.
Seafoam in streets,
in houses, in people.
Salt goodbyes, salty eyes,
I see the seafoam.

where is Lituya bay

This is incredible. I wish I had written it myself. I'm sorry I have no sixers left.
The way one line flows into the next is beautiful. I feel as if I was being rocked by the sea as I read.
Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed reading your well thought out poem. Thomas.
I liked the personification of the ocean. Your picture was
a good compliment to your work. I could see everything
as I read. Your topic was interesting, and your expressed
your thoughts and feelings well.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

This is a good mixture of words and artwork. It describes what a calm sea is like in the first two stanzas and then the storm and its effects in the third. It uses metaphor well. But it doesn't seem to be from the ocean's point of view.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy Holidays
