Your cat sounds like a contented animal. I have six house cats and love them all. Twenty-year-old Blossom sleeps by my pillow at night. I wish you worlds of luck in the contest.

Awwwwww! Simon sounds like a sweetie -- your poem is charming and I enjoyed reading about your 'chill' cat. Mine is not all that cuddly either, yet she ALSO rubs her nose to express her affection, and gives me 'the slow blink'.

Simon sounds like a very sweet cat. Our cat also runs away from the grandchildren but she likes to sit and watch TV with us and hangs out with her old peeps. I liked how Simon runs back inside when the weather is not pleasant. Best wishes in the contest!

Simon does sound like one cool cat - he loves the ladies and avoids the grandkids. That's probably true of most cats. I have three - 2 are aging comfortably, but one is a young goofball. Keeps things interesting! Loved your story.

I love Simon the happy cat! It sounds like he is one special cat. Perhaps I would spend some time thinking on syllable counts and meter to really make this poem flow effortlessly. It's joy filled a light. A celebration of a special family member!

Simon sounds a lot like my Bella, who was trained outside on a leash and is now allowed to go out twice a day for about half an hour each time. She never leaves the yeard.
When it's time to go to bed, I say, "Bella, nighty-night," and she runs ahead and crawls into her bed near mine.
Bella likes my girlfriends - no one else.
I'm so happy that Simon is happy - they are such special creatures.
I enjoyed this poem, and like the way you matched the font and background colors with your cat's coloring.

A poem which clearly explores our relationship with our pets. The cat's character is analysed in amusing detail! The illustration is delightful but the form, rhyming scheme and rhythm could improve with editing.
