I am a little slow on the uptake, I did not get the capybara's name until the very end. A little gruesome but imaginative, clever, and interesting take on a child's fairytale.
Very best wishes,
Mary

Thanks, Mary. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger; no one had a easy time with this.

Hi, Bill! This story is an interesting take on a child's tale. I have to appreciate the imaginative and creative ends of this one. That being said, while its genius rests on the tale of "The Three Billy Goats Bluff," I'm positive a child would have more questions than answers. Nevertheless, I love the way you write! Best, JohnC

Thank you, John, I lean towards the satirical retelling of children's stories, which are probably not suitable for young readers.

Gotcha! I enjoy whatever you write! As a satirical rewrite, it's perfect!

Wow! What an imaginative story. Yuck! I had never heard of a capybara, and watched a YouTube video of a capybara and a dog. That thing is enormous. Your story is fast passed and engrossing, with a satisfying, humorous ending.

Well, now we see her name is very appropriate. Your characters are delightful. I was glad to see the snake got his comeuppance. Good to see a picture of them all.

Well, it started out like a fairytale with the rodents of increasing size and with the smallest going over the bridge first. I thought we were going to have a Goldilocks and the three bears fairytail ... until the snake ate the gerbil, then followed it up with the rat and finally the Capibara entered the scene on the bridge and forthwith bludgeoned the snake to death with his feet. In true Bill Schott fashion he doesn't even think of rescuing his cousins, but with the snake gone, Too-dey-yoo-dye becomes master of his own domain on the other side of the bridge, and the memory of his cousins is fast fading.

You rock, Bill!

Thank you, Jay. This was a revamping of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, but it got darker as I went along.

An entertaining take on a somewhat familiar tale. I love the retelling, reimagining of old fairy tales. I see it as putting a new coat of paint an a house that is being updated, new floors, new doors, modern windows, etc. etc.

Well, I read it, so I have to review it. I won't lie to you. While this is written well, structurally and grammatically. I don't see the point of the story. If it is a take on another tale, perhaps children's tale, I don't know of it. As a stand alone, I don't get it. Not saying every story has to be Earth shaking.
I suppose this okay.

Well, this is kind of a gruesome story, The ending is different. I don't think this is a story one would read to their children. It is written in a skillful manner, which makes it easy to follow. Nice work.
