Retired?
A slave to my critters, a typical day39 total reviews

If life with my pups is a prison, then yes, I would rather stay in jail forever than live without them. They respectfully sit at my feeding if I eat, willing my hand to share equally with them. Of course, I do! What kind of parent would I be if I ate anything in front of them without sharing? If I go out to eat with family, they are waiting at the door, nose sniffing and expecting the leftovers I've brought. Retirement from humans, but definitely not our fur babies.
Hugs, Carol

Thank you. I agree. I don't mind caring for all my critters. They return the favor with lots of love and the occasional mouse by the door. I couldn't live without them.

A beautiful photograph certainly complements the wrting. The day sounds demanding because of all the pets! Doesn't seem like a quiet life! But the reader feels you secretly love it! Very sincere, honest and funny - I love the way you wake up!

Thank you. The picture is of my cat, Sweetie. She is the boss over all the critters in the house, including me. They are demanding, but I love them all.

I truly enjoyed this once having 5 cats at once (twice) I understand your day. I truly hate to tell you that even with one animal, you never get to relax. He or she wants to be fed, the litter box cleaned, or in my case, the cat wakes me up to be fed by hounding me until I get up.
A well-told and delightful story of your "retirement."
Good luck in the contest.

Fabulous, I loved it. You sound exactly like my sister in Buffalo. She has two high dogs, five cats, three Pythons, and a little critter in a glass bowl. At the end of the day, she is knocked out.
This was great writing and a great story.

Thank you. I could go with everything except the pythons. To each their own, and if that is something she cares about, more power to her.

This could be me, except I don't have a dog now. We are such slave to our furry little babies, but they're worth it. As it, I have nine looking at me, with two strays outside.

Thank you. You have me beat with the cats. My husband and me had a dairy farm where everyone dropped all their cats and dogs. Iused to get them fixed and find homes for them. I still ended up with six cats and a dog. I'm seventy-six and never planned to have this many this late in life. I love them, though.

Thank you. Yep, they keep me busy, but I need something to do anyway. I love them all and would miss them if they were not here.
Hugs.

LOL, a great flash story, good luck in the contest. I was catdaddy to a maximum of four cats, no dogs. I can not imagine taking care of six. You have my sympathy and admiration! Good job. Terry.

Thank you. I don't mind caring for them. They give me a ton of love in return. I would be lost without them. They give me a lot of ideas for stories, too.

I am also retired. My main duty in the morning is to let the cat go outside, using whichever door he chooses. I wait patiently for him to decide. Opening up for him to come back inside is up to whomever is available, most times he accompanies who ever opens the door to go out or come in. My wife takes care of feeding and litter box, thank God.

Thank you. I love my critters and couldn't imagine life without them. I grew up on a farm, married a farmer, and live on a small farm yet today. I have never known life without animals of one kind or another.

Cute story. We have a cat and dog that dictate our daily routine so I easly identify with your words. My wife is the retired one. I do the dog thing mornings and nights. Sometimes I think my wife and son feed the cat 6Xs a day. She, the cat, has a stomic issue. Thanks for the fun read. Rickie
