Thank you for your prayers and wishes for John. Do you still speak with him? I guess sometime has passed by now and you are busy with your own family. You need your husband to do as much as he can, since it's his dad. All the best.

Sounds like a really tough situation in the family here. Prayers for all of you to get this resolved but it sounds really difficult to me with people so much at odds over what to do here. Does he have a will? Is it certified? This really speaks to the need to have all these legal papers in place beforehand to avoid arguments like this. estory

Barbara, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry on many fronts... so many. I just got my just about 92-year-old father back from the hospital. He had bronchitis, closing in on pneumonia. He also had little blood clots in his lungs from a previous case of Covid from before there were vaccines. He was there for 4 days. That was more than enough for him, and for me.
I do hope your family can come to a peaceful solution.
Take solace in the fact that just because she put the headstone there, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. She's going to be dead. She won't have any real say in the matter! ;)
(Sorry if that's a little indelicate... but to put in a pacemaker when someone has a DNR in place in outrageously wrong.)
From the daughter of one John to the daughter-in-law of another, I feel for you from head to toe. May all go as John deserves it to go.

UPDATE!!!!!! It seems somewhere around 2:00 this morning, John came out of his coma, that we were told he'd never come out of and started asking questions. We're not sure what's going on. Hope we get some answers soon. It just gets better and better. Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you for your prayers. They took John off of life support last night and a few hours later he started talking. We have no idea what's going on. My husband is on his way right now.

I'm sorry for this state of uncertainity. I will put your family in my prayers. People get a little crazy at times like this. The various factions of a family have very different opinions on what should take place. I guess the present wife is wanting to keep him alive at all costs.
