Wow, John, that was an amazing read. This to me, shows you're totally free of any writers block. It's so very well written. I take it poor Lev's mother has perished in the blaze. But will the boy succumb as well? Ulla:)))

Thank you, Ulla, for the great review. I'm not sure where I'm going yet, as I believe none of us do, lol. I'm standing by with you, my friend. Lev will show me the way! Thanks again, Ulla!

I find it's like that when I write. I can plan where I want to go and then it suddenly takes a wole new direction. I'm sure you'll find where to go with this.

Hello, this was a good story to read. Lev is a character with a good, intriguing backstory, and this text makes me curious what lies in store for him.

My 50 cents:
-Lev moved to the table and jerked upward on the edge. It's not moving (it should be "It's not moving)
- Lev is a bit too calm given the situation (I have been I high-risk situation a few times, and most people either cried, shouted or cursed like sailors). Think about it :)

Thank you for your review and kind words. Lev's character is composed because of his upbringing in jail with his mother. He is characterized at the beginning as a tough kid where crying, and shouting, would not fit his personality. However, I thank you for your personal account of your high-risk situations, and perhaps on another occasion and with a different character, I will revisit you for a more in-depth overview of your experiences. Thank you again, Joanna!

Really good. I was glad you posted the first part again. Refreshed my memory. I like that you had the ten year old act like a ten year old. I've read other stories where a child protagonist acts like a college graduate. This is really drawing me in. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

Gretchen, I thank you so much for the great review and six stars! Yes, I agree on the child characters. I try to stay aware of Lev's age. I'm happy you noticed.

I find this to be a good description of mounting panic, but I had little impression of the fire. I couldn't smell it or hear anything, just see the smoke (could be my bad). Kate xx

Hi, Kate! I left the heat out of this one for the time being since the explosion was in another Quod. Things will got HOT I promise! Your observation was spot on, However.

Sometimes if you're having trouble in continuousness of your story, you can turn to other forms of writing John. Loved this, there's something about the cruelty of some folk like the nasty form of Vadim to his wife, and worse the casting out of his daughter and to the son Lev, beautifully written John, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy for a great review and your tip on writer's Block. I tried everything this time around. I find with me if I let it run its corse it will miss me and come back to its senses (or my senses) LOL.

John, good luck with that writer's block. Poor Lev in a cell block with a fire. I guess that could explain the block, just kidding. Actually, I think the first two parts go together nicely. Keep it up. Terry.

Okay, I figure you the lengthy return to this story, as most writers suffer from the dreaded block at one time or another, especially if you're writing a continuing series. But don't keep us waiting so long next time, lol!

Lots of action here, told well. Now I'm wondering what the deal is with Lev's mother, as the rescuer hints that the lad may be imagining things. And I imagine Vadim is the mysterious person lurking in the hallway.

Yikes, we need questions answered, John!

Thank you, Pam! Yes, BLOCK and the laps of time is the main reason for posting all of it again. I'm on it! If I keep my muse well-oiled, I will get the next one out a bit faster--I think! LOL. Thank you for the great review!
