I can relate to
the sky is grey, my heart is heavy
it is why we moved from Adelaide to North Queensland many years ago.
Enjoyed this free verse Heather, and that you found that though you aren't enjoying the weather, nature does. Cheers,
valda

This is funny. I just just wrote a review of your last poem.
Thanks for reading.

Captures the feeling and sound of rain. The onomatopoeia in the last stanza echoes the sound on the roof. Human feelings may be depressed but the plants in contrast rejoice;

You understood the idea perfectly. Thanks for your review.

Not so bad as the monsoon in India!

Definitely not.

Hi Heather,
Nice free verse poem. I especially liked "fat drops" and "heavenly weeping". Also the sound at the end,
"Drip-drop.
Plop.
Pitter-patter.
Splatter."
I also like the pairing of "trees/teasing".
We've had at least three wind/rain storms these past couple of weeks. I can deal with the rain. I actually enjoy walking in the rain. But the wind? He's a nasty little bugger! I have no use for his antics. He's a bully.
Nicely penned! The sun will be back.
Hugs,
Kimbob

I so agree with you. I don't mind rain, but I can't stand the wind. I only complained because I'm on holiday this week and I'm not being able to enjoy my garden.
Thanks for reviewing. Take care.

Thanks so much for reading.

This is a fun poem with the sound of raindrops falling. I like, especially, the personifications of the sky and the mushrooms. I like, too, the contrast of the feelings of the poet and the mushrooms.

I love the imagery. I can see through that foggy window and what is out there... But the young lady's heart is heavy for no reason. She is not trapped. She can go outside unless she is a wicked witch and will melt in the rain. She can accept the invitation of the trees, "Come, look, see how much we're enjoying this." Walking in the rain is fun. What is the huge aversion to getting wet? Misery comes from wanting what one cannot have.

This is such a gorgeous, fun review! And your last sentence is so true.
Thanks so much for the golden star, Thomas.
Have a lovely day.

This poem, Rainy Day, has the proper formatting and compares the wet wonderland outdoors to the tight tomb of the indoors, tortured by the drumming of rain.

Hit the nail on the head with this one! Though nature enjoys the rain and drinks it in, we are closed inside, unable to enjoy nature's bounty. The gray skies are depressing and I so prefer the sun!

Thanks for reading, Chris. We don't get much rain over here, so it is always welcome, but I'm on holiday and I'd like to be able to spend more time in the garden.
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
The rain is tiresome and in England there are so many dark rainy days, especially through the winter months. Your animated write remind me to seek the sun occasionally, love Dolly x
