Well done. The attack was brilliant and cowardly. What kickback occurred interred many of the enemies in losing the war they began. Peculiar is how the two nations, now are friends.

Very nice remembrance.
Well written. Good work.
According to reliable sources, officials in Great Britain did have knowledge of an attack. Prompt action might have mitigated some of the carnage.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne for reading this story and for the very nice review. Yes, I think there were several alerts, but all were ignored, even the radar crew's first sighting. They thought it was our bombers returning to the island. Thanks again for your valued review.

One of the first things I did this morning was to pray and be thankful for the life I can live here in America. I knew it was 12/7, each year I don't forget. I wasn't there and never had the opportunity to serve in the military, I'm just a normal "Joe" raised the right way and respectful.

Your story was well written and well received.

John

Thank you John for reading this story and for the very nice review. I'm glad you shared that you were raised the right way - there is something definitely missing in our country and it ties directly with that point. Thanks for sharing your feedback, and I wish more people respected what we have to be thankful for.
    Best regards,
    Dick

This is a day to remember. One of great sadness but one of great pride too. The poem works very well with alternate lines suggesting first pride and then loss and sacrifice.

Thank you Sarah for reading this story and for the very nice review. WE have a lot to be thankful for, and my dad served in the Merchant Marines - I'm lucky he made it through.
    Best regards and thanks again,

It is hard to believe the bombing of Pearl Harbor was more than 80 years ago. Dick, your tribute poem does a fine job of setting the scene that serene Sunday morning when the Jap Zeroes arrived in waves. I really like how you continue contrasting the Before and After. Rod

Thank you again Rod for reading another story and for the very nice review. WE are very lucky to have this great country, and it is a shame people don't respect it the way they should.
My dad served in the Merchant Marines and I'm very lucky he survived.
    Best regards,
