Out for an adventure and home for tea and I loved this endearing poem that made me feel warm and loved, fine rhymes too. Snow is bearable when you can escape and sit down to apple strudel! Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

What a lovely Christmas poem. I can see what is pictured, feel the bitter cold, and sense the anticipation of getting the tree home to decorate and enjoying Ma's cooking.

The rhyming is good in this poem which describes the picture well. The rhythm is fine too and all-in-all the poem reads well. I think that you could have gotten away with using 'storm' instead of 'snowstorm' in the first stanza and you have put the apostrophe in the wrong place in the first line of stanza two. It should be December's not Decembers' as what you have written means belonging to more than one December. Nevertheless, this is a good descriptive poem so good luck with it.

Celyn, thanks for the notes, the apostrophe is corrected. I uused snowstorm to maintian the 11 sylabbic count in each stanza.

You capture the feel of the Christmas season. The rhyming scene suggests that the celebrations are traditional and similar rituals are repeated from year to year! The illustration is well selected.

There was a time when life was simpler, when man could raise kids and crops on their own but somewhere at some time societal mores became corrupt and now there a mess on our hands making our lives more complex.

This is a great holiday poem. The poem is written detailed by the picture.

From dragging the Yule tree through the snow, the two deer watching, the lit home showing warmth and the chimney spewing smoke.

I felt like I was there...

John
