You are right that God sees the big picture, which may require several steps to complete the process. (I understand this because I have had my own episode more than once, and I'm just now recovering from the latest one.) Your account of this particular series of events shows that not every doctor knows what treatment is most effective (or works at all), but persistence can bring you to the right solution. You made us feel as though there, experiencing the pain and frustration as well as the ultimate improvement. I'm glad about the outcome. Superb.

Thank you very much Mike. I appreciate the gift of six stars very much. Very generous of you, and an honour for me. I hope you are feeling well again. I heard you?d had a bad dose of Covid. Good to see you again.

You are most welcome, Wendy. Your episode was far more painful than mine, which was simultaneous Covid, pneumonia, and flu, all cured rather quickly. My problem was loss of a third of my body weight, which has taken two months to regain through a high-protein diet (in four meals per day since my return home). You suffered for much longer while God orchestrated the steps which had to occur in sequence. "The Big Picture" is an apt title.

You are not going to believe this; I ran over my foot with electric wheelchair and I am diabetic. The chair weighs 350 Kg. X-ray showed no fractures? My blood levels went through the roof because we couldn't import an injection once a week. A male DR gave me two different tablets that didn't work. God directed me to searching online. I am now stable - the foot? Only soft-tissue injuries and osteoporosis. I can't complain, it has done the work of two for 40 yrs a prosthesis only stabilizes the body.

A pity your wheelchair ran over your GOOD foot. That?s double trouble. I can imagine how painful that was! Not a light chair by any means! Diabetes too. My goodness. We?re almost twins.
Thanks so much for sharing an$ reviewing. Always appreciated.

Definitely know each other from another lifetime. Yes, I was black and blue. It's a new chair and I was pushing the laundry basket, it tipped backwards and I put my foot down; the chair was in drive! Luckily I was able to reach backwards to turn if off.

Hi Wendy,
all fiction has finely woven webs of truth within every story.

The story takes on a different meaning and feeling when the knowledge of its validity comes to light thanks to your notes.

Yes, we are given chances for every advancement within our personal lives... whether the circumstance be that of good, or bad. One needs to hold faith, keep the senses and directive open at all times to reap the rewards of its wisdom.

I'm so glad you were guided to this end, as I wouldn't like to think of you in a worsened condition from misdiagnosis. Of course, any medication that is ongoing is never going to be the optimum, but the alternative is bleak.

Thank you for sharing this fictional(non-fictional) work for this contest, I enjoyed the read and the creative way in which you constructed this to meet the contest parameters... well done, and all the very best in this contest.

With our thoughts we create...
connection to a higher purpose.

Kind regards,
James.

Thank you James for a lovely review. You are right about fiction. There must be enough truth to make it sound authentic. I am very appreciative of your generous six stars - thank you so much!! Thanks too for your good wishes. I was wondering how you are going re pain. Does the summer weather help or make it worse?

God DOES know the big picture, and all we have to do is believe in His wisdom and in His time. You experienced many medical centers and many doctors with all sorts of theories. Then, God guided you to the medical specialist who was most knowledgeable, and able to treat your condition. This is a truly inspiring story about the God I know who watches over us all. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so much for an excellent review and thoughtful words, as well as for the good wishes. Yes, because we know that He knows the big picture we can relax in His care, at all times, and not be anxious.

I've heard it before and I'm sure I'll hear it again, our times are in God's hands, and like Hezekiah He can be reasoned with, I know God is with usm and whenever He intervenes there is a good reason for it. Beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

Thanks Roy. So very true, and when He intervenes we need to give Him thanks and publicly acknowledge His goodness to us.

A remarkable story well told! You go through some frightening events very clearly, evoking the fear you must have felt. The coincidences could be attributed to fate but many would see the hand of God here!

Thank you very much Sarah. There were lots of other things happening as well, all indicating God was present and working in the situation, but I was limited to 500 words. I appreciate your kind review.

Hi Wendy, I thought this was fiction but I now see from your notes that it must be nonfiction. It's beautifully written and I enjoyed it. Good luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla. It has to be non fiction to meet contest requirements. However, I am Linda. It is actually my own story.
Thank you too for your good wishes.

I'm so glad to hear that Linda was spared of blindness and loss of limb. I wouldn't wish either on anyone. I am still blind with a genetic disorder, and a very rare one. Initially, I was to be completely blind by now. Instead I have a small amount remaining. I am thankful because I can write and read more easily. I've learned tje value of a day and the blessings of good health which are not always mine. My immune system is weak and my thyroid is giving me problems at present. This too is hereditary. I rejoice in the Lord as He has me in His hands no matter what. Thank you for sharing. My blessings to you all and for the contest,
Sal XOs

Thank you so much Sally. You may have guessed that I am "Linda", but the contest required flash fiction, so I became the fictional Linda. Yes, I no longer take sight for granted. It is the most precious of my senses. So I am very glad you still have some sight left. You do an amazing job with your writing. Mine is an autoimmune disease too, and that weakness runs in the family, mostly though with thyroid problems. Thanks so much for your insightful review and for sharing.
    Blessings each day to you.

God does watch over us and does intervene in our lives. We just need to ask and believe that He will handle the situation. I heard someone say one, 'If you pray for rain, you'd better take an umbrella.' Basically, if you don't then you don't really believe God will provide rain. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Good luck with the contest.

There you are arriving back from a holiday perhaps even if it was simply setting at home. What would we do without doctors??? What did the Neanderthals do? And who was the first m.d., and how did he get licensed. Such thought incenses me, see? Sad way for a person to survive. Is your sister okay today?

Thanks Tom. Interesting reflections, and you are right! My sisters are all well. I had to make it fiction for the rules. I am Linda. It?s my own story. I am okay thank you, the disease is "managed" by lots of medications, but I still get extreme fatigue.
No pain as a warning, but monthly blood tests to check what?s going on inside with my arteries.

Thanks Tom. I don?t have the energy to do as much, or for as long , as I used to, so I?m home more, and perhaps reflecting more.
