Great job for a first foray! Great job if it was the fifth foray come to think of it! I could easily substitute "Massachusetts" for "Pennsylvania" since the DPWs love the fun and hijinx of waiting until the first major snowfall to start repairing potholes...from LAST winter! My bent hubcaps thank you!

Great entry! Listening to this song took me home...to my youth!

Your re-write of "Take Me Home" works well. It succeeds in every way. I could hear the music as I read the lyrics. Thanks for sharing this song re-write with us.

You did a really good job at the rewriting of Take me Home Country Roads by John Denver. You used very good descriptive words and your words go well with the tune. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

You did a great job, Mystery Author, with your contest entry.
I love the song this was based on. Your words flowed smoothly
in line with the original and painted a great picture for readers.
Of course here in Texas where everything is bigger, our potholes
would swallow dinosaurs. Your words were well chosen and
descriptive.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Good catch on the first line. Thanks for telling me how to do the music. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review it. Aside from that how was it?

You could not have chosen a better song to parody than John Denver's "Country Roads." I love the way you mock the disillusioned mama and those potholed roads in Pennsylvania. I found myself singing your lyrics out loud. Rod

This parody song, Take Me Home, Potholed Roads, based on John Denver's Country Roads, is a hilarious cover that finds the highways of PA to be less than travelable. If want to exit I should be "Leaving on a Jet Plane".

Not a back first effort, at all. I, too, live in the Northeast, where potholes swallow babies, vehicles, and entire civilizations. In these contests, it's always wise to chose a very familiar tune. Well done, and best of luck. Peace, Lee

Earl! Where have you been? Not ill, I hope. I always appreciate when people rewrite songs I can remember.
    Again, best of luck! Lee

I teach and work for a newspaper evenings and weekends. Not ill just slammed things are slowing down a little so I have just threw a couple of things together to get the creative juices flowing again. I?ll be working on my books over the holidays. Stay tuned.

These days, the Fourth Estate needs all the help it can get. Glad you're well. I won't touch my dial.
