This a good entry into the 70 words flash fiction contest. Dogs are by no means dumb especially when it comes to food. The text is a nice size. Thanks for that. The story is well-written. The plot doesn't seem rushed. The visual is great. You have a typical but great ending. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent entry for the 70 Word Flash Fiction writing prompt Contest. You grasped the form well. Nice presentation. Your descriptive words flow well expressing clear mental imagery.

LoL this reminds me of my cat Ellie, she loves treats.

Good luck in the contest.

I like the picture. It shows a good friendship between the boy and his dog.

It must be hard for the dog to go through such a painful experience. I hope it isn't true experience.

Thanks for sharing

No, the story is not based on a true experience, but was inspired by the picture. Many thanks for sharing.

Was the boy's mom giving the puppy dog some tender loving care? There is always something about a pet that will be innocent until proven guilty look. Apparently, the boy was giving his dog some discipline.

Our furry friends are far smarter than they would like us to think... Getting treats sits at the top of their list and giving sloppy kisses, of course. Your flash is adorable and of course touches the heart of this animal lover.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

LOL, this is a very clever entry for this contest. I wish you well. Poor Heidi gets a fish hook looking for a treat and then gets a treat. If she had been a child, we would say she is getting rewarded for bad behavior. Good job. Terry.

This seventy-word flash fiction story, Treat, Please!, has the proper formatting and allows that the dog here has a good idea on who would be the weak link in treat rationing.

I loved this post. My son has two big dogs and I take treats every time I go to visit. The dogs always welcome grandma because they know she has treats. Good luck with the contest. Happy Holidays! Sarah

You are right. Heidi is no dummy. In your short flash fiction piece you have created a scene with an ending that does not surprise but is endearing nonetheless. Its language suggests a junior audience.

Lol, well Heidi received what she was after, although it was a painful way to get it. Well done on your flash fiction story. Sending best wishes for the contest.
