Great interpretation of the reason for, and the glory of the birth of Jesus.
"To fulfill the Father's will," a poignant phrase!
The night before His passion, Jesus prayed and asked if God, His Father, would spare him 'the cup,' but said, "nevertheless, Your will be done."
The pain and suffering of the brutal sacrifice on the cross is not realized by many Christians, however, the rise of Christ on the third day is universally celebrated.

This is a beautifully written poem. One does not even have to be a believer to appreciate the artistry and message of the poem. You've captured the essence of the birth of Christ perfectly, and that is a beautiful picture you have chosen to accompany it. Very well-done.

Birth of a Promise tells the beautiful story of our lord's birth in a creative way. I particularly liked the last line.
Well done
Blessings for a happy New Year

Very well done. From the outside looking in, you have penned the story of His birth. I think (with respect) it would read more easily as quatrains, giving pause between stanza's. Four lines then a break. Good luck with your contest entry. K xx

A unique way to describe what happened over two thousand years ago in a manger in Bethlehem. "When Promise came to earth"??? What have we done?

Writer,
Your poem captured the essence of Christmas, its true meaning in a few short sentences.
I enjoyed this line -
"Breathless silence filled the universe
As all waited to hear the first cries of hope"
Well done, my friend. John
