This poem is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. One of the most difficult moments of a hard time is watching the normally stoic person break down. Thank you for sharing your gift.

What an outstanding poem and picture combination, and your words have painted a lingering scene that I'll not soon forget. A time I truly wish I had a six.

Such a beautiful, touching poem, Irish! I read it several times and each time felt the strong emotion you put into this. You have chosen just the exact right words to convey the sadness of losing a little girl while clinging to her rare and unique beauty. She was yours, and now you have made her ours as well. Thank you for this lovely poem. I think it is a masterpiece.

Well, I have no six to offer, but I will certainly vote for this stunning poem when it is nominated for poem of the month. A masterpiece. Congratulations on such fine work in free verse poetry.
Sending you my best today as always, dear Irish.

I liked your poem. It speaks of life after death, really, the triumph of the spirit over the forces of the physical world and its borders. Here the little girl who has passed away is waiting for you in another world, a world of springtime flowers and wide expansive landscapes, speaking of a time of reconnection with those she has left behind. It is the timeless hope of all mankind, to be reunited with departed loved ones. Loved the sober, honest voice here, the appropriate melancholy air, and the pastoral romantic images were brilliant. estory

This is so very sad and touching and I am so sorry for your loss. Your words here evoke longing and deep grief and it saddens me when a child dies and does not have the chance at life, a moving write, love Dolly x

Oh, no. This was a bittersweet poem about a life snuffed out so early. I thought it was fiction until I read your author notes. This was so sad. You have penned a breathtaking poem. Gretchen
