I completely agree with you in your notes and your poem gives us the stark reality of what Mars is like compared to the paradise of Earth which we haven't learned to take care of while living here. So how will we be good stewards of another planet?

Thanks for the excellent review and my sentiments exactly. We seem to keep feeling that a change of scenery will leave all our problems behind; including the ones that are inside of us. But the real gist of this poem is that we seem to be projecting an idyllic, edenistic view of Mars onto a dead world. It might sound exciting to go there, Musk might be making money out of would be investors in his rocket company, but in the end, going to Mars doesn't seem like a practical concept to me. As I think I said in the notes; We can't afford to live here. Let alone on Mars. estory

When we choose to escape, we forget the baggage that always goes with us. Hindsight often reveals that what we left behind might have actually been better than what we have now. And you can't always go home again...your poem provides much food for thought.

Thanks for the excellent review and all the wonderful words of support for my theme. That's it in a nutshell; just because something else is out there doesn't mean its a better place or a place from which we can escape our struggles estory

This poem makes the reader appreciate everything they have here on Earth. I never understood why anyone would want to go live on another planet and not come back. Yet, there is an expedition planned that will do just that! No thanks. Makes you think doesn't it.

Thanks for the excellent review and your comments supporting the theme of the piece. I wanted it to be a bit entertaining, but also showing how much of our experience and our expectations comes from our experience here on Earth. We tend to extrapolate our past experiences into our imagination of what we might be like on places like Mars. But it has nothing to do really with the reality of what living there would be like. That's what I wanted to show. estory

Minus 80 Celsius! Oh my goodness! We think we have found the best place to be and then something reminds us of another place and we can't make up our minds where we belong, I know that feeling. I think I would swap Earth for Mars if it was silent! I love the sound of silence, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my little piece. A little tongue in cheek sarcastic humor in looking at our dreams of living on other planets. The reality of living there would be nothing like what our dreams are, I think. estory

The more we have photographs and information about Mars, the less tempting it seems! Early writers like HG Wells could speculate, even romanticise about the Red Planet! As the poet says we, perhaps belatedly, realise we are in the process of destroying the most habitable planet in the cosmos!

Thanks for the excellent review and your comments supporting the theme of the piece. We'd better do a better job of taking of Earth before it ends up like Mars. estory

Very nice use of verbal irony. The idea that things would be better somewhere else is an illusion, as we always have to take ourselves with us, right? I enjoyed this social commentary, and it flowed nicely.

Excellent sarcasti humor. You describe Mars well. I would not go.

I love the imagery but I would like a more colorful presentation.

Good luck with your writing.

Thanks for the excellent review and your comments and suggestions. I thought I had some colorful images in there, of the dusty biodome glass and the rock strewn craters, the dead silence, the distant Earth. Evocative of my theme on the contrast between dreams and reality. But I'll take a look at it at some point and see if it can't be improved. estory

Be happy with where you are and whatever you have; it is good to think of dreams, wherever you go you carry yourself; don't see other things, why to go to MARS, problems are everywhere, more or less the same, that's why we think grass is greener on the other side, when we go there again we see other side, grass is greener, difference is there but true happiness is not there, like true beauty you never find outside, it is always within; ALCREATOR LITT DEAR

Thanks for the excellent review and for your words supporting the theme of my piece. I don't want to got to Mars. We are made for the Earth, and we have enough problems here to solve. Mars is a waste of time and money. estory

I remember you wrote a great short story about scientists on Mars. So you are knowledgeable about Mars. I wouldn't want to go there unless it's like Hawaii. Elon Musk will start sending things, tons of things over there using his huge Falcon Heavy rockets before he sends human there. He is planning to build a doom that is full of things that make people happy. Or he will try to warm it up. I have no interests in going there but they already have the first 100 spots filled a long time ago. He would like to send 1 million people eventually.

Well done.

Thanks for the excellent review. Musk is in enough trouble with Twitter and Telsa. He is a PT Barnum, great at hype, but all this is being exposed now. I hope you sold your Tesla stock. It's going to $30 or $40. estory

Yes, I can't believe that life on Mars would be easy, the thought of excitement as being the motivating factor would soon wear off in the malaise of a barren landscape, that one could perish in without the appropriate clothing and air supply. Here people will move thinking they would be happier somewhere else, but problems are still good travellers, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thanks for the words of support for the theme of my little piece. My thoughts exactly. Some people are making a lot of money out of this or they wouldn't be talking about it at all. estory
