Dear Writer,
Well penned. Numerous lines containing word phraseology for me required stopping to reread and think about what you were trying to convey. For me, that sometimes takes out the fun of reading. But that is a me problem, not yours.

Brilliant, loved it, don't care if you were a youngster. It has much to tell. I especially liked the Puerto Rican pig market - I could see the carnage and the scrabble to find the best cut of meat. Poetry is much like painting and you painted a wonderful picture. Before you learnt all those big words that I need a dictionary for! Down Under sweetheart K xx

Nicely written. Your work lends itself to giving the reader an image of what you are trying to portray. Every stanza is visible as I read through the piece. I also liked your use of contrasting color which lends to ease of reading and enjoyment.

A sobering piece of poetry that surprised me when I read your notes. Written in the 60's at such a young age! The Bronx may have physically changed since then. But underneath it all, the pain of human suffering is still there today. No amount of window dressing can change that.

This is a very interesting write-up that takes the reader on quite a journey.
My favorite lines were these:
Past gothic, orthodox, cathedral
mausoleums which sit darkly, like
ancient stoics, and stare through
amber and crystalline-blue
stained-glass eyes,

This poem makes me want to go for a walk and see if I can breath and hear and see and feel everything around me with the level of detail you have so vividly been able to capture in words. That is truly a gift you have to draw on the senses in such a way that the reader is transported right to the very place: to the sights and sounds. Truly wonderful writing and spectacular word choices. A small edit in paragraph/stanza 6 repetition of the word "her" (2nd-3rd line).

Talk about detail in words. The way you describe every moment, every feeling, and view, is astonishing. Your vocabulary is nothing to sneeze at. Very educated. Your writing has the most feeling and experience. You can tell your writing is never rushed, but every word is given the utmost thought. All of those thoughts described so perfectly for me to share that moment.
