Well, at least they have Alan jailed. You did an excellent job as always, and I am enjoying this story. I didn't see a thing wrong with it. I hope you had a great Christmas, my friend, and Santa brought you what you wanted most. Happy NEW Year!!!!!

Lots of things are going on here...the arson has to be at the hands of Ali's ex. And the head strong Ali can't seem to keep herself from trying to help Cord and his family through the struggle of the fire even though her ankle is shot and she's disobeying doctor's orders. Cord tries to keep her in hand, but we see how much he cares for Ali. I thought you had a chance to make the fire scene a bit more tense, maybe put us in the middle of it more. Ramp up the tension, maybe have Griffin make an appearance or get into a fight with Cord as he tries to get away. A little more action. estory

Ali made her injury worse by trying to help rescue the foal, but she probably thinks it was worth it. She had a premonition something bad was going to happen, and she was right. So Griffin started the fire in the barn. He should have known there would be surveillance cameras. He was so intent on getting revenge, he apparently hadn't thought of that. Cord things about Ali going back to New York, but with a little persuasion, I believe she's stay. She is taking to the ranch life, and she already has a case she's working on. I think it'll be an easy decision for her. judi

This has been a wonderful story, full of your gifted style of writing. Some of your stuff needs to get converted to movies and Mini series. I think you said this was not gonna get published? No spags. Hope you have something new for us after this one??

Another action-packed chapter, Barbara. A nasty fire and poor Alex isn't even healed yet.

Griffin is really dangerous. I agree that he shouldn't make bail this time.

She hobbles [hobbled] outside and noticed Jim lead[ing]a blindfolded horse from the barn. [You switched tenses]

Gulping[,] he asked, "What are you doing?"

I changed that sentence a few minutes ago and only made it worse. Thank you for the catch. I appreciate the help.

What an exciting episode, but in character, your characters have high morale fibre, and in a sense, that's a form of the gospel, love compels us to keep from temptation, and cling to our ideals of what love and respect are, along with the grace that should always accompany loving one's neighbour, even if they don't deserve it. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Another great chapter, Barbara! They finally got Griffin for something sustainable enough to keep him in jail. I guess Ali has a stubborn streak, but it looks like Cord can handle her. I'm impressed with how you've subtly progressed their love for one another over the chapters.

This is another excellent chapter. I heard once that the writers need to make the bad guy really bad, and you did that. I am glad all the horses are okay. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Good thing the Doctor's using common sense making the hospital as an either or option. Another fine chapter.

"Querido, you did nothing wrong. It was Griffin." [Shouldn't it be "Querida"?]

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Barbara, as I did. I'll see you around the corner in the New Year.

You're right. Thank you for the catch. I'm surprised Ulla didn't catch it. It caught another of my Spanish errors.

Just a note as I was reading: If the doctor had Alexandra's ankle in a boot for support, it was badly bruised or sprained. You can't have her running-

She (ran) outside and noticed Jim lead a blindfolded horse from the barn. Cord said brushing helps calm them. I need a brush. She (ran) inside and grabbed her brush.

She (ran) inside the barn's back door,

I think you'll get more bang for your buck telling how she hobbled or limped in pain, nearly falling in pain to save the horse or get the brush.

Just my observation.

Cheers. John
