Ah! This is the ultimate mystery, however, I'm not sure the keeper at the gate is St. Peter, after all he was someone typical of a lot of folk. But this is a great thought, a reasoning that is before all of us, it's the process that cause apprehension, not the event. Beautifully written Maria, , blessings Roy

Left me hanging again. Did she make it into Heaven, not just to the gates? You did a wonderful job. Good luck in the contest. Happy New Year!! Shirley

Very well done! I enjoyed this dialog-only script very much. It was light-hearted and humorous and makes death sound not so bad after all, especially if you're a man and can be escorted to heaven by a grim reaper who looks like your picture! Great job, and good luck in the contest.

What a conversation for this contest! There are so many good things in this piece:
'You knew I was coming' brings home that we are never promised tomorrow or to even see the end of today.

'Death' offering a bit of humor was brilliant.

'Nobody is ever ready' is such a relatable feeling.

One thing: might you mean 'Pearly Gates' as opposed to 'Golden Gates'?

Your piece brought Mike, Fleedleflump, to mind. Which in turn brought tears to my eyes. Life is indeed fleeting, so make sure to 'suck all the marrow out of it' before yours is done. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful piece. Best wishes in the contest!

    Thanks for noticing my mistake.
Yes, Mike's passing was so unfair. My sister also passed when she was 48, four years ago.

We'll, we know almost immediately where she's going, but there are still surprises, like him being a her (I always assumed it was a man too!), and the stop at St. Peter's. Maybe I've forgotten that he is the traffic director.

Good dialogue - sounds like a conversation we'd all have.

Good luck!

Well, you know, Pam, here in Spain Death is a she. I wonder why...

Hello Heather, very imaginative writing a woman
Reaper into your creative work. The story flowed well
and kept my interest, as all of
what I've read does.
Happy New Year!!!!

Good luck wishes regarding the contest entry, Heather. This dialogue was perfect. I really appreciate the picture of the pale young woman and the video was absolutely great. The dialogue was rather interesting because it involved the grim reaper, except in this case it was a beautiful young woman. Very well done and greatly but sadly enjoyed. Blessings, Hugs n a Happy New Year!!!

This is an excellent piece, Maria and would certainly get my vote if it were a member contest. Great dialogue that is easily relatable and understandable without every using names. Lovely work! Good luck.

Well, at least she knows she's meeting St Peter, that's a good sign, isn't it??? I agree it's not fair we can't live a bit longer, a couple of hundred years should do it! Lol. I enjoyed the banter between the angel and the unhappy dead lady, I'd be unhappy, too!! Well done this was a wonderful contest entry, and I wish you the best of luck. :)) Sandra xx
