Your poem has all the elements that describe a sad, gloomy feeling. The dark background ( black heart) are clues to a desolate feeling. You chose very strong and meaningful words which add power to the poem.

Your post satisfies the rule of the writing prompt. The darkness of the picture ties in with the poem's subject, which is a broken heart. It is something we have all felt at one time or another. Something that only time can heal.

These 8 words are powerful and quite possibly a broken heart is the heaviest burden the heaviest burden of all. I certainly can't think of much heavier. An excellent choice of words for this contest that is complete in all it encapsulates. Best wishes for the contest.

Any of the Broken-hearted would quickly agree with what you say.
I like how you convey this "heaviness" by using words that begin with B as well as a three-syllable word like "heavier."
