Oh, this is so much like my boys. They just left and my three grandsons, two are twins. Thankfully, I have one granddaughter and a wonderful daughter-in-law. The stories at the dinner table were wild this year! Why do they cut their hair? Why?

Sending you my best for this delightful post.

    Hello Sally
I suppose if I could answer that question, I would be honored with a doctorate of some kind. I suppose King Solomon might have been able to proffer an answer, but it isn't mentioned in the bible, so I don't know. They probably didn't have scissors back then. Isn't it fun to sit around and listen to the stories? We never get tired of re-hashing some of them, and usually something new comes out. I feel bad for people who don't have children; for all the challenges, there are many more blessings, but try telling that to a mother of three or four or more at the end of the day. Thanks so much for the delightful review.
    Have a blessed evening.

Yes, sir, there is nothing better than looking back to happy times and enjoying all the foolishness that kids do. Heck, what am I talking about, adults too. LOL. Thanks for sharing

    Hi Rick,
It's great to hear from you man! I was thinking about sending you a PM. Yeah, you're right about being an adult. Just because we're grown up doesn't mean we don't do foolish things. We always have a good time as a family when we get together. My kids have a pretty good sense of humor, so it's pretty entertaining. Thanks so much for the great review and comments.

Tom, A very fun story, and I suspect you have a whole lot more from where those came from. I think your fans will forward to reading some of those. I have retired from writing on FS, but I will offer a few reviews from time to time for deserving stories or poems. I hope my six rating offers some counterbalance to the stupid person who gave you a three. Excellent work. Terry.

    Hello Terry,
I'm sorry to hear that you're not going to be writing on here anymore. I like your stuff. I understand though. Sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge dealing with all the various issues here. I took a small break over the holidays. I was getting a little burned out. However, I want to keep writing, and I'm not confined by what I write, and my ego does like the stroking it gets. I also have made some pretty good friends on here that I really enjoy. I really appreciate the six and the kind words. I know that everyone has a different opinion of things, and that certainly goes with what is written on here. I looked at the person who gave the low score and noticed that she had done the same to several others as well. I think she was a newby, so I didn't let it bother me too much. I hope that you come out of retirement after a bit. It's good to get a diverse batch of writers to bounce our work off of.
    Have a blessed evening.

You're right, unless you have a big family situations like that would not occur. I can understand the comments about having seven kids in today's current environment, but it wasn't unusual to have large families years ago. Many of my friends came from homes with ten to twelve siblings.

    Hello Thesis,
thanks so much for the fine review and comments. You're right, some years back big families were the normal. Of course on many farms in America, the families were needed to help with all of the chores. We were living in a Christian community in the wilderness of Alaska when we had five of our children. Most of the families there were pretty big. It was fun having all the kids most of the time, but I can't imagine having more than we had. Have a blessed evening.

Well written and very relatable. Wonderful comfortable readable flow and you convey something that those of us with siblings can relate to well. Nice job.

    Hello Kayte,
thanks so much for the wonderful review and comments. Every family deals with situations that they would rather not I suppose. Hopefully, most of them will be harmless and can be used as teaching moments. It's always fun when the family gets together and we start to rehash old stories. There's usually lots of laughter. I'm so glad you enjoyed this.

What a great story that was. You told it so well too. It was a perfect buildup with a description of your bathroom situation, then the "mishap" in the upstairs bathroom with your two boys. I'll bet Autumn never lets them live that down.

It was a folksy, homey, good all-around story.

    Hello Jim,
Thanks for the great review and comments. I never knew what the guys were going to do. Both of the them were wrestlers from the time they were in grade school. We dealt with them chewing snuff, so they could lose weight by spitting, to getting into matches up in their bedroom. I was in their room one day and happened to move one of the beds and noticed a big caved in spot in the sheetrock in the wall. They had been in an argument and one threw the other one into the wall. Fortunately I was able to fix it. Always something.
    Have a blessed evening.

Very nicely done.
Absolutely right. There were five of us. What's an only child to do? Who can he blame? "Mom did it."
Whack.. "Ow, that hurt!" Whack again.
Best wishes.

Ha, ha, ha... my younger boy, Brian, was as stubborn as a mule and was mouthy as well. He spent a good bit of time in time out, and he was pretty familiar with the wooden spoon as well. Thanks so much for the great review and entertaining comments.
    Have a blessed evening.

This article, Never a Dull Moment, could likely be filled with stories that originate from the bathroom. The multiple of nine people with a half a dozen tales would fill a novel.

    Hi Bill,
thanks for the great review and fun comments. No doubt you're right. If I were to sit down with all of the kids, I'd probably have enough to fill several books. Of course I'd no doubt discover things that would shock me as well. Have a blessed evening.

Happy New Year, Tom!
Hoping my Christmas card has found its way to Alaska!
Smiled throughout your story.
My husband is the eldest of nine children, and yesterday, as we gathered together to celebrate the new year, childhood stories filled the room! Oh! The shenanigans of those four Truelove brothers still cause disbelief and laughter!
I laughed aloud at your description of the hydrogen peroxide upon your son's head! Ouch!

Thank you for sharing!

    Hello Diane,
Happy New Year to you gal. So nice to hear from you. Yep, we got your card for sure, thank you. I had to write down your address again. Your road is a little bit confusing, and my writing is so poor, that when I sent your card, I wasn't sure it would make it either. Isn't it fun to re-hash those old stories? My mom and dad were both only children, and dad's childhood was very difficult, so we never got much backround about when he was growing up. We more than made up for it with our own family though. It's always a good time. Have a blessed evening gal.

Tom,

I chuckled al the way through this. I commend you for doing what it took to raise seven children. Families are so important and I have noticed that the larger ones often have more adventures and fun. At least hair grows back!

    Hello Sue,
How nice to hear from you gal. I was thinking the other day that I haven't seen too much from you lately. I didn't know if you were taking a break over the holidays or what. I hope all is well with you. Thanks so much for the generous review and stars. I really appreciate it. You're right, hair does grow back, but sometimes not fast enough for the genius who wants to play barber. At least they didn't hurt anyone else. I hope you have a Happy New Year gal.
    Have a blessed evening.

    Hi Tom,

It's always a pleasure to read and review your posts.

I have taken some time away from FS. It was starting to become more like a job than a hobby. Plus, I haven't been motivated to write very much lately. I'm so troubled by what's happening on a grand scale that I find it difficult to not write about it, and most people don't want to read that kind of thing. So, I stay quiet here. Perhaps my creative juices will flow again. If they do, great. If they don't, that's okay, too. Meanwhile, i am trying to limit my reviewing responsibilities to works and writers I enjoy.
