Thanks for sharing the laughs, Tom! I was going to ask you -- How old were your boys at the time? Teens? Middle Schoolers? I'm surprised the screaming didn't wake you up. Glad for your seven kiddos to have you and Jan for parents.

    Hello Helen,
Yes the boys were in high school. I probably should have mentioned that fact. Both boys were on the wrestling team, and they naturally kept their hair short anyway. I'm not sure what the thinking was behind the shaving, but like so much else, I'm sure there wasn't much thought involved. Thanks for catching the error, I'll changed it. Have a blessed day gal.

I was wondering if one twin wanted to look distinctly different from the other?

A great question Helen! You are so perceptive. It runs in my mind that one of the boys commented in the past that he didn't like being a twin although I can't recall if he gave the reason. They have a special bond though and are each other's best friend, although there are still issues that come up.

Very funny. No Tv or books. Hey, I completely understand. What else is there to do out on a farm at night?

notes:

She shook her head and said, "let me see."

-"Let me see."

which in itself was quite a feat, since none of the razors {was} new.

-were

"You better put something on {that." she said.}

-that," she said.

    Hello Lancellot,
Thanks for the fine review and comments. I appreciate the notes too. The English language can be so confusing when it comes to all the rules and regulations that dictate how one should use it. If I'm correct, you were a teacher weren't you? I really appreciate your input. I'll make the changes, thank you.
    Have a blessed day.

This is a very cute and very well written short story about your son's new haircut. When our twins were small I went out Christmas shopping with my friend. When I got home out middle son looked our the door to show me his new haircut his dad had given him. He had shaved it all off. I was really furious because they were identical twins. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Teri

    Hello Teri,
Oh my, I can imagine that you might be just a tad upset. Ben gave himself a haircut some years before when he was just in grade school. We made him go to school like that in hopes that he would learn his lesson. We were glad that Brian didn't follow suit and they would both look ridiculous. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Twins are so much fun. Have a blessed day gal.

The things kids get up to. It happens in smaller families, too. I remember when I caught one of the boys shaving at five years old. I was scared to death, but he didn't even nick himself. Then I was afraid he would have a beard when the fine little fuzz grew back, but my grandmother assured me he wouldn't. He didn't. Aren't those times great! We have stories we tell on each other over and over. I know with your group, you have plenty. I really enjoyed this story! By the way, Bob Hope said he was from a large family, and he learned to tap dance waiting for the bathroom.

    Hello Yvonne,
Thanks so much for the generous review and the entertaining comments. For the most part, there were a lot of good times while the kids were growing up. There were plenty of stressful times too, but we tend to forget those. We have to or we'd go nuts. That made me laugh when you mentioned Bob Hope. We had a stretch of woods out back, so if the girls were taking too long in the bathroom, the boys would go outside and let fly. It was a little more difficult for the girls to do, and they seemed to be able to hold it in longer. Oh well. So great to hear from you gal. Hope you have a safe and blessed New Year.
