Since I don't know the first thing about poetry, I read very little. But whenever I'm about to post a story outside my comfort zone, I turn to reading poetry for inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoyed this poem. It's a great description of a writer. My favorite line is "wordsmith wizards". Writers are definitely that indeed. Best of luck with the contest!

Good use of alliteration. I like the idea of writers creating magic.
It sure does feel like that when the writer reads his work and
sees he has written something he didn't have in mind. He surprised
himself, like magic.

In fifteen syllables you capture the essence of the writer. Your last line "creating magic" is a perfect line for that is what writers do, create magic. You have a smooth flow of words and a poem for the writer.

Your poem is an ode to us, poets and writers!!! I really liked the use of the term: wordsmith! Because, yes, you got it right, we are the craftswomen and craftsmen of the written words!!!
Great job!!!

I enjoyed this short poem very much. I loved your description of writers as wordsmith wizards who create magic. It's true of your writing. I hope it's true of mine as well. Your picture and visual presentation were perfect. Great job.

Wordsmiths and wizards - perfect descriptions of who writers are. They weave such spells with their words - captivating hearts and minds that are vulnerable. Stirring emotions snd yet soothing souls at the same time. Powerful is the pen / like a magic wand. Use it wisely

The photo you chose to accompany your poem is perfect. I think you have defined what a writer does perfectly and in just a few words. Very well written. Good luck in the contest.

Hello Faith,
Happy New Year! I liked this 15-syllable poem about writers. I like being called a 'wordsmith wizard'... makes me feel like I make an impression. I also like the line about creating magic. I'd like to think that I can do that if I put my mind to it. Not sure it's true, but I'd like to think it anyway!
Thanks for the poem, it's a power boost!
Susan :)

Happy New Year to you as well, Susan! So glad you liked it. I think any time we strive to put forth words onto paper (or screen), we create magic, even if it's only within ourselves.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review.
