The illustration and text complement each other. The story ends on an ironic note and draws a contrast between Charlie and the timid narrator. The characterisation could be further developed to make the theme resonate with the reader.

This is an interesting history of Thomas Brown and creating the many characters such as Charlie Brown and Peanuts.
