This is a lovely poem with a deep meaning. I don't mind at all being compared to an oak tree in winter, but I'm not crazy about the constant change! Best of luck to you in this contest.

Verna, Thank you. I do struggle also with the inconsistant temps.

Very nice, and so very true, J!
It's expecially true here in the NEK. Last week was snow and ice, this week feels like spring. I have tulips in my garage that think it's time to grow, I think that as long as there's no water for them, they should be okay until actual Spring. I can't believe that on the Canadian border in January, it's feeling like Spring.
It's supposed to snow in a few days though... change is imminent!
Susan :)

When things appear to be dormant, we sometimes overlook the fact that they ate changing, getting ready for new growth. With this simple verse, you remind us.

This nature poem entitled,
"Constant change"
Was well written rich in Theme and Imagery.
Note:
Although Winter's can be extremely cold and the trees lose all their leaves.
The sun will still shine through and warm the tree.
So that they will again in the Spring, show their leaves and live another year.
...
This also, read well and flowed well with No Grammar Issues.
Thanks for sharing this and have a Blessed day.
Doctor Ricky

I had to get the syllables correct in order to read it properly. Once I did, it made full sense to me.

Man is required to change, as the oak has no choice but to change. Oak grows after every shedding of the leaves and man is continually evolving.

Nicely done. I wish I had a six left in my bag of tricks.

Cheers. John

Oh yes, the tree is one of the prime forecasters of God, when their leaves turn to their autumn colours, we know that the weather has changed to autumn, and as in life this is a sure fire warning in our own lives. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
