I saw the coffin and had to peak inside. Your words are very elegant, I just wish your second picture would have been of a woman ready for that journey and not a young heart with promise. That`s just me. Nice entry into the Tanka contest. It will be a full house with many excellent entries.

The author's words are engaging, descriptive and creative. I found the
poem filled with details and expressed well. The poem flows and connects
well. The artwork is awesome and compliments these words well.

Happy New Year to you too.

*sigh* How magnificent a journey, too. Your poem touches the very soul of anyone reading it -- serene and peaceful -- the way we all hope to go. Very beautiful. Good luck in the contest. Tanka is not my strong suit, but I do love this poem...

I automatically thought of heaven's bride as I read your Tanka, Heather. You make this final journey sound wonderful, but not for one so young as the girl in this picture. Good luck in the contest. Cheers

You made me think death is is a good thing here Heather? For one so young as this it would be a tragedy. A fine Tanka for the contest, I wish you luck, love Dolly x

A very well written Tanka, very beautiful. My only suggestion would be to put the pictures the other way, as you have mentioned the daisies and the gown first, which could be for any special occasion, and then heaven is mentioned last, then we see the coffin. That way you keep the destination a secret until the end. Just a thought. Best wishes for your entry.

What a surprise in the final line. It's interesting that the initial lines can refer to any celebration such as confirmation or a wedding. But alas, it's a funeral and a flight to heaven...

Good luck wishes regarding the contest entry, Heather. The dual pictures were wonderful, especially the top one representing a coffin. The tanka was delightful. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs!
