I am glad you got back to the story, but where do you go from here? We know how it ends. But what is in between? Only Ric's reckless choices await. I will have to try the Four Roses...more of a Gentleman Jack and Single Barrel Jack, myself, but old dogs can learn new tricks. Excellent writing. Terry.

Yes, Terry, I think I've come to know you well enough by now to figure you'll never run out of tricks. And isn't it so nice when old Jack can assist us? LOL. I drink a little Jack from time to time myself. Blanton's is my favorite, but I think you'll enough the single barrel Four Roses. Thank you so much, my friend, for your generous and encouraging review. It's always a pleasure when I can entertain the talented writers who I enjoy reading regularly. I appreciate YOU!

Well, you devious fellow you, posting two parts in one day. And more fool me for reading backwards. This was still well-worth the read, and I am loving discovering the budding poet in you... and learning more about you. Kate xx

REALLY????? You really ran away with your tail between your legs???? Well, I'm glad this is fiction, or I'd swim across the pond and give you a kick where you wouldn't want one!!! You ruined everything!! That's being a coward! I'm so angry at your Ric character, truly I am I saw another message in my box with your name on it, I'll check it now and see if you caught the next flight back!!!! Love you lots! :)) Sandra xx

ROFL! Yes, that chicken Sh _ _, Ric. You've got me so tickled I can't type. I think there are probably a lot of people mad at Ric in this chapter for being such a coward. But I think he really was just unsure if Lori would have been interested in taking him over Brian and, he didn't want to take a chance on destroying his friendship with Sam. There are few things I like better than reading your stories and getting your kind and encouraging reviews. I appreciate YOU more than words can say! A great big bear hug and a peck on the forehead!

Now that was stupid. All he had to do way follow the advice Sam gave him and find Lori and let her know how he feels.
March of time, waits for no one.(True) Reckless choices, waste our lives. (Also True.) He had better get it together or he will lose her. Well done, Ric. Nancy:)

Thank you so much, Nancy for your generous review and kind words. And yes, he was stupid not to find Lori and tell her how he felt. Stupid boys. LOL. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate YOU!

Poor Ric. Oh, come on, twelve girls is not a lot for a guy, right? LOL! Ok, double standard, I know. But Brian told Lori right. You go, Brian. Don't be sitting around waiting for some chick to make up her mind.

I can relate to this story on so many levels. Growing up I was more shy than any guy who likes girls should ever be. Despite having two older sister who could have and should have taught me how to navigate. I was a wreck around girls. I joined the Air Force at 17, went to Okinawa at 18 and all of my experience was with Okinawan hookers. When I came home from the military, I had no practical experience and so, I blew relationships, one after the other due to my lack of experience. I lucked into the relationship i was able to establish with my wife of 49 years. I haven't managed to screw this one up because, I know if I did, I would probably never have another.

I could almost kick Ric for not going back to talk with Lori. GRRR. I can't wait to see where this story goes next. You're doing a good job writing it. I see the next post is already posted. Can't wait to read.

Yes, Barbara, I've made a few people mad at Ric over his blunder. LOL. But you have sons, so you know how the stories go, they don't always do the right things. Thank you so much for reading and your generous review and kind words. I appreciate YOU!

Thank you so much for hanging with this story, John, it's a little outside my comfort zone for writing, but I just keep trying to branch out and do something different. I'm glad you liked it and were entertained. I appreciate YOU!

I'm glad you've picked up on this story again. You indicated there was a lot more to tell. I'm thinking this is a bittersweet love story that may go well for a while but has a less than happy ending. Maybe I'm off base. I anxious to read more. For now, the way is clear for Ric, but he has gone elsewhere.

Thank you so much, Beth, for your generous review and kind words. This is one of those stories that could have gone on forever, but I get bored and start looking for something else to write about after the third of fourth chapter of anything. LOL. I always appreciate your time and support, but most of all, it's your kindness and our daily fellowship! :-)
