This is really good. I can't imagine how frightening it must be to be forced from one's homeland into a new country where one may or may not be welcomed.

WOw that image is so evocative and speak volumes of sadness and fear. Your simple words convey so much depth. A new country and a new life implies leaving behind so much. Not just possessions but familiarity, home, family, known for something unknown. Powerful.
