This is a fun story to read. I like the formatting which makes it eye pleasing and easy to follow.
I am glad you are getting a new bed. Looks like the cat rules the sleeping arrangements. LOL.

Thank you for the review. The new bed has arrived and the cat is a little hesitant to claim the bed as his. But it is a treat to no longer hang on the edge of the bed!

Clever and humorous how you go through the stages of grief with the ill-fitting bed. Owning a cat, I can appreciate his trying to dominate the mattress and then making a loud fuss when locked out. Finally, seem vomit does the trick. My cat did that just a few nights ago.

Yes, cats will do that - it rings true with my experiences. One of ours used to come under the duvet which meant you had to be careful not to roll over. Buying a cat bed is a waste of money - they have a need to try every available place out. I got up in the night once and was shocked awake by the site of our cat curled up in the bathroom sink. I did notice that the first part of your entry had paragraphs, but as the story went along, nearly every sentence was spaced as a paragraph.
That can be done sometimes for effect; sometimes, if done repeatedly --over and over, it has a jerky effect on the reading. I found a couple of places where the sentences might be combined, but you may be satisfied with them as they are.
This was still excellent.

Perhaps, you have to be a cat or pet owner. My mind kept thinking, why not kill the cat or throw it out? Or fix the house, get a space heater and bed. And, oh! I can relate to the cat and the bed situations.
