Do the indigenous tribes call it the Wolf Moon? January is a time of unpredictable weather (in our country too.) I liked your writing prompt and notice your country has been experiencing 200 tornadoes. Thanks for sharing.

I love when I learn something. I did not know that a full moon in January was known as a Wolf Moon. Thank you for putting that in your author notes. I like the intensity of this poem. The raging, damaging storm as witnessed by the silent watchful full moon. Beautifully written. Gretchen

This is a gorgeous poem and the image you've selected is perfect for it. I've read it several times and each time it touches something in my heart. To me, it's a winner. Good luck in the contest.

Oh, this was great. I love poems about the moon, and have a small portfolio on them. Moon always fascinated poets with its mystique and lunar sorcery.
A very romantic offering with great visuals. Absolutely loved it.

How can one write sensibly anything with eight syllables. Nice try.
I snapped a picture much like this laying on a dune in South Carolina,
but on those dunes, I saw no evidence trees existed there at all. then again, maybe that storm you wrote of carried them to sea. Tom

I can see why the January moon is called the wolf moon, your poem makes the reader almost hear the wolves howling, and feel the chilling wind blow. Your words captured the moment along with the feel. Great job. Good luck in the contest.

The moon in January is called wolf moon. I hear the howling already as I write this comment. The winds can howl just as bad, as the wolfs, if they get wicked enough in the storm.

"Wolf moon", intriguing words. Great rhythm, the poem meets the criteria. I appreciate your carefully chosen words to conjure an image of a dark and stormy night.

Ooh I like fun facts and I did not know that January's moon was called "wolf moon"! What a great descriptive use of it here. I imagine turbulence and an anxious night with storms and fallen trees. The eerie full moon adds to this. Well done and best wishes!!
