Wow. I usually balk at anyone attempting to respond to a famous poem by writing another poem, but this is extremely well done and indeed, compliments it, IMO.
By the way, "In Flanders Fields" is an all-time favorite poem of mine. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks, Terry. My grandfather fought in that area. He was in the artillery and also served as a French interpreter.

Wonderful writing. I attended Flanders Fields on the 100th Anniversary of the ANZACs. It was a very emotional experience. Beautifully expressed story. A really enjoyable read.

What a beautifully moving poem! THis poem flows with such smoothness and all the descriptions from crosses, larks singing, peace , no more guns, the sunset's glow and the field of poppies ...everything is such masterfully and carefully selected.
