Well, first welcome, my new buddy. I am here to entertain and bring a renewed consciousness to Mother Earth. The Woke world is the rabbit hole. Absolutely insane.

Fairytales can actually be nightmares as you pointed out in the wolf feasting on grandma, exemplified in Red Riding Hood.

"I need to hit her," yep, that is a three-year-old's response spot on.

Question about rabbit holes, and how they affect Modern youth, thought-provoking.

Hopefully it will meet the criteria of the contest, though did have a similar thought as you did.

Thank Brett. It met the criteria and got four votes which wasn't enough to win. I appreciate the review.

Your entry made great sense, Beth. It's amazing what adults
tell kids and/or what kids believe regardless of where they
heard the info. Today's world seems to believe kids can and
should make decisions only adults understand, such as the
gender 'thing.' Kids of all ages are impressionable and do get
most of their news/info from computers. That can be scary and
lead to so much more trouble.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

This is a clear and descriptive view of facts and fiction through the eyes of a child. When I was young, fairytale characters showed up in my dreams. I was terrified by my first Halloween party at age five. However, as a modern day pre-school teacher, you are required to teach what is real and what is fantasy. You are also required to have books with realistic pictures of animals, along with books with talking animals. Still, some children become confused.

I agree with your assessment of the influence of the worldwide-web, and the burden of choosing a gender. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

Note: Mom could take of her, because I needed a sister. (take "care" of)

Thank you for a great review. It is good to know teachers are helping children separate the fact from fiction. My youngest took a long while to get over two terrible scares at Halloween. I remembe being told the grapes I was touching in the dark were eyeballs ripped from a dead body and the spaghetti was intestines. It gave me nightmares.

Nicely written.
You met the criteria in my opinion. But who am I but one who's been disqualified in the past.
"...many children are told they should feel free to chose whatever sex they might feel they would like to be..." - I've seen this put out there as the truth, but I don't believe it. I think it's political scare tactics, like repeating that the gov't is going to come and take your gas stove. Sexual identity is a real issue for some older people, but not children until misguided adults get involved.
Sorry for throwing my personal beliefs into 'your' writing post. Feel free to tell me to shut my pie hole.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne, your opinions are welcome. I appreciate your review. I couldn't believe that sex choosing could really be happening. I thought it was a joke until it came way to close to my family for comfort. My best friend's grandaughter and a grandson of my own have both decided they are the wrong sex and are calling themselves trans. It is being taught in school with subject matter designed to make the other students more tolerant.

I see no problem with teaching tolerance - better than the opposite. You don't say the ages of the grands. Sounds like young adults.

The girl was ten, the boy twelve. They both want hormones.

Intriguing read. Very well written from a wise perspective. I too am glad I had my childhood many years ago. It is a different world today. Thankyou for your words and the way you expressed your thoughts. Definitely deserving of all six stars.

You have mad many valid points, and yes, the world is very confusing for children. I know one child who was quite upset at receiving $2 from the Tooth Fairy whereas her friend got $6. How to keep the magic and yet explain, that the children's value is equal? Gender detemination by children? Ridiculous. My very manly son always played dress-ups with his older sisters, because otherwise he wouldn't be included in their games. Best wishes for your entry.

Thank you so much Wendy. I really appreciate your comment. The tooth fairy only left me a quarter and my dad claimed he only got a dime. I guess there's inflation in the fairy world as well. LOL

I agree with you about the perils of being a child in these times. As for the vulnerability of being misled by conspiracies, I know plenty of older people who got pulled into political and medical conspiracies.
Glad you had a childhood in better times. I may have chosen the fire truck, too! Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you for the nice review and comments. I know almost anyone of any age can be a victim of misinformation. It is very hard to know what to believe. Maybe we all want to return to the land of magic where anything can happen. There was a time most of us believed in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy. LOL

Well, I agree with some of what your opinions reflected in this essay on the eyes of a child but I disagree with other points the truth is it has always been hard for children to differentiate fact from fiction and some adults still have that problem too. But all the same, I hope the children of today get their heads screwed on straight and know that there are some things that we can't decide on no matter how hard we try.

Thank you Jesse. I do agree with what you say here which is pretty much what I thought I was saying. I'm not sure where we disagree. If we do that is fine. I certainly wouldn't expect everyone to agree with me. I only state my opinion and everyone is entitle to theirs. There are parents who will work to make sure their children aren't crushed by today's traps. They are our future. I certainly hope enough of them are able to pick up the mantle and carry on.

Amen to that! I'm so glad I don't have children growing up in these times. It's unreal what has been heaped on children these days. They will never know the joys of childhood like those of the past.

Thank you for a great review. For some of us, we think back on childhood and it seems wonderful. I don't think it was perfect but we can block out the bad and see it as wornderful. Others see only bad and block out the good. It think children have more to contend with these days, but maybe they will have selective memory and remember the only the good.
