Yes, David is back in my life and being supportive as ever. He is a great friend and will see me through the best to the worst of times. I am also aware of the idea that my new caregiver Cindy has taken over the role of helping me every day and will see me through until I am on my own and walking free and clear.
Thanks for seeing this as it is. I hope you have a wonderful upcoming week!

Hello Wendy. Thanks for your support and well wishes for my future where I will walk with David on nature trails and ultimately the beach!
This ongoing saga will continue to improve as I don't lose doubt in my friends and my circumstances.
Have a wonderful day, my friend!

That isolation is so hard because Covid can be a killer. It is great your spirits are still good after the earthquake and the missing friend, but I believe you will walk those paths together. Never let yourself doubt that you can do it.

You are right! I should never lose doubt in myself and my ability to soon walk again and go on the nature trails with David by my side!
Thanks for the pep talk and for never losing faith in me.

Wonderful that you and David could reunite! And I love that you "hugged" with you standing!! I know these days, I think twice about hugging (in person, not virtually) because of Covid. My brother (also named David) had Covid and since we were together for my dad's burial, we fastidiously tested on Day 1, Day 6, and Day 10 -today. We are thanking God that somehow we didn't get it.

Thanks, Helen, for this supportive review. I never let the fear of Covid keep me from hugging my close friends. If I lost that it would mean no hugs and no touching with my friends! I love David and my new caregiver, Cindy and we hug every time we get together. Thanks for the warning but I won't let Covid or the rest of the diseases get me down!

I am really glad to know David is back. He has been a true and helpful friend. It's a great feeling when two old friends get together and enjoy each other's company. Thanks to David, you had a reason to stand up. Standing is the first step to walking. It sounds as though your new year is going to be wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, standing is the first step to walking and I will be walking soon when I get enough strength to stand up and walk with a walker for further and further distances!
Thanks for your support and for believing in me, my friend!

Just beautiful. Wouldn't it be nice to catch up with friends and being able to ask how they were and what they had been up to instead of reading and seeing it all on social media already? I long for the days before the internet. Well written, well composed and a lovely read to wake up to.

Yes, I long for the times before social media and the internet altogether. I grew up when a one-on-one visit was the norm and we met each other face to face and greeted each other with a hug and a smile.
Now, we have all these contraptions between us where we only know each other online and life just isn't the same.
Thanks for your enjoyable ride through past lifetimes and I am so glad you liked and enjoyed this essay on David and I getting together on life's terms and actually hugging.
    Have a great day!

Hi Jesse, I'm so glad that you and David got to see each other again.
Covid has torn so many people apart. I especially liked:

many times we spend together doing absolutely nothing
but hanging out.
(Cheers to simple moments)

I wait with bated breath to hear the day that you and your buddy walk the beach or a nature trail. Well done. Best wishes for your continued recovery and success. Margaret ~ LateBloomer

I really enjoyed reading this short story of you missing your friend David but finally being reunited. It tells of a strong friendship, one that has stood the test of time. The message of being inspired to achieve more and the encouragement and determination a good friend offers cannot go unsaid. You will stand and walk again to take those walks with your buddy. You can do it!

Doing absolutely nothing but hanging out is the best thing to do at our age. So many memories to share.

So glad you've reunited with David because he will help you to move on to the next step in your recovery.

Glad he's recovered and you're reunited!

Hello Pam. Yes, David is the one who encourages me to move forward and one day walk on the beach! I too am happy he has recovered and we are reunited.
Thanks for the kind advice to go ahead and just kill time sharing memories.
