Thank you for sharing the history of wars... you have done a good job in this poem. I do learn a little bit of American history.
I always wonder what did America get from the Vietnamese war since I was affected by this war. Your statement is real..,
"To Vietnam's Ia Drang Valley,
Generations answered the call,
Now their names are on a wall,"

Again thanks for sharing

Your poem is a great tribute to those who gave their all for us to be safe and free. More will follow their example, because there is always those who like to start wars. The memory of our brave young men and women must never fade, we must always recognise what they gave up for us. Their lives! Well done and good luck in the contest. Sandra xx

Thank you for this tribute to American soldiers who fought here and abroad. It's always good to be grateful for those who sacrificed all so that others could live in freedom. Best wishes in the contest!

What a wonderful tribute to the men and women who fought in the battlefields so we could be free. The words in your poem are so true and touching. Soldiers fight to save our country, they love the U.S.A.

nice and moving poem about those who made the ultimate sacrifice over the years. I am married to an army vet - she retired as a Major in the US army - she was the first Korean born female US army officer to have served in Korea with the US army.

A little rough around the edges, but the message brings it up to five stars. It saddens me when I think of the millions of people around the globe who have perished in war.

This poem made me very sad. I hate to think of all the young lives lost and even though they're not forgotten, we can never hear their stories.

"Now their names are on a wall,/Many buried where they fell,/Their stories never to tell,/They lay alone,/In a garden of stone,"

This makes me want to cry.

In your last line, did you inadvertently leave off the word "me?" It seems so. Anyway, a good poem that will do well in the contest, I'm sure. MM

Well said. In, 'In their memorĂ½' you make the point that they, our brave men and women, paid the price, and are still paying for our freedom. Though I am Australian much of this applies to our country too, we need to do better, for them. Good luck in the contest.
