What an intense flash fiction piece this is. It is well written, very moving, and more importantly it holds a very strong message about helmet safety. I would not want any mother to have a last memory such as this. I am glad it is fictional here. Good luck in the contest.

Yes. I often rode my motorcycles without a helmet, but realize how idiotic that was. I've recently seen two dead motorcyclists lying in the road. Such tragedy. One was wearing a helmet, though.

The message in this story is obvious, helmets do save lives. I think you did a good job of illustrating that simple fact in a much more meaningful way than a statement of the facts. Good luck in the flash fiction contest. The fact that you tell a complete story with an obvious meaningful message in so few words is awesome and your effort is worthy of merit. I think you should separate your single paragraph into two or three or even four. Gives the story more punch and allows the reader to get the full impact of your words.

Thank goodness it is fiction eliz. Yes, I agree. That law makes a lot of sense. Helmets saves lives and they should be mandatory. There's no do-overs with accidents. Well done.
