I like your interpretations of these quotes and your selection of quotes is great! I liked the Maya Angelou part the best. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a very good selection of quotes. I think this contest has produced some excellent work, including yours.

Your advice here was my favorite:
Each and every tick of the secondhand
momentous events often flash across our minds.
At that moment, if not present, important events dull over time.

Great stuff!

I liked your art choice you paired with your contest
entry, JLR. You did a great job interpreting the chosen
quotes. Everything you mentioned fit and made sense.
I liked the use of rhyme used, too. Each one of the quotes
in its own way is my favorite--they're all that different in
meaning to me.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

This is a good entry into the Quotes by Others poem contest. The text is a good size. The interpretations of the quotes are clearly stated and easily understood. You need to make Dr. Seuss' name in bold like the others. You need also to expand your poem box. Your text looks squeezed into the box. Drop the first line down one or two spaces. Go to the last line and hit enter once or twice. Now you have better spacing around your text. I love your gif visual. It's the swirling of time. Good luck in the contest.

Sandra, thank you. Must say sadly I do not know how to enlarge the box. I did correct the bold on Dr. Seuss.

Go to the beginning of the first line and hit enter one or two times. Go to the end of the last line and click enter one or two times. Now your box is enlarged. I try to keep the beginning and ending spacing about the same for a better presentation.
    You are welcome.

Your quotes all tell us of a better life that awaits us. I've only seen one other entry into this contest and they did not use poetry to interpret the quotes as you did - I really like what you've done here and the quotes that you chose.

Good luck with the contest.

My standard disclaimer is I have no budgetary sense and find myself out of sixes early in the week.

That being said I love this contest and have enjoyed every one of the entries I've happened upon thus far. Yours resonates with me on an entirely different level. (That is a compliment and I hope you take it as such!)

I'd like permission to borrow your own interpretation of Da Vinci's quote...

I'd love to keep it pasted inside my daily journal!

(I'd give you credit--JLR--promise!)

"Far too often, we tend to build the clock,
instead of looking at the timepiece
and simply tell someone the time."

Love that!

A great interpretation of these quotes by famous people, and yet if we made them, who would notice? But I like your broadening the aspect of meaning to them, beautifully written Jim, an excellent entry in this contest, well done, an good luck, blessings Roy

I enjoy this poem that interprets four wonderful quotes from four very famous people through out the history. I especially like this one: Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud

It's so wonderful to be able to cheer someone up using your own positive attitude and you'll cheer up yourself at the same time.

well, sir, you wax pretty eloquently, yourself! All of your interpretations are very thoughtful and wise.
I just read your very nice comments to me, and decided to check out your post before answering.
By the way, I love Flat Rock and surrounds. I'm originally from Augusta and went to camp at Greystone. My sister has a beautiful horse farm near Tryon - beautiful country.
