Excellent Rhyming Poem that doesn't sound forced. I like that love conquers all and that each lover has half a heart to be complete with their union. In Spain we say, "mi media naranja"

Yes I remember. I don't write in Spanish because you said you prefer English. The reference about the media naranja is a memory I cherish, of course you know about it. I was sharing my thoughts.

Such a strong, sure love, such an enduring emotion. It earns my respect and admiration. My parents had it, but I wasn't equally blessed in my marriage (I've often had a sneaky feeling that they set the bar too high for me). Anyway, your words show that you realise how lucky you are. kay

What a sweet poem of forever love! You show us that even in the mundane things of life like housework, everything is better with love. That dismisses that unrealistic idea of romantic love that doesn't cover the hard things of daily living. Best wishes in the contest!

I think as we age we think of these things constantly, well, maybe not constantly, but the consequences of separation can be devastating p, particularly in the more "mature" years, I guess the closeness to God, as efficacious as this maybe. This is a fine job in rhyming poetry, well done, blessings Roy
