I guess this is dependent upon where you work. I worked in a school where violence was ocassional, a psyche ward hospital where violence was daily: "I thought you told me before workplace violence like this was rare?" He's such a thinker: ""What is the purpose of becoming a mass shooter? All you're going to end up is dead."
The last part sums up the Transactional Analysis statement
I'm ok ...you're ok (we get along well)
I'm ok...you're not ok (smug bully)
I'm not ok...you're ok ( target for the bully)
I'm not ok ...you're not ok (on the roof of Walmart
shooting everyone then shooting themselves)

Hello Brett,
I can't think of much good that has come out of social media. It has been used to manipulate the minds of primarily young people. There always seems to be some kind of agenda pushed or the desire to be famous is so strong that people engage in behavior that they normally wouldn't. A large part of the problem though, in my opinion, is that we've put God on the back burner. When you do that, the glue that holds the social fabric together comes unraveled and we see the results. Thanks for sharing this.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

This is one of those posts that just made me sad. The idea that you have to explain a mass shooter to a child is sad. Even though Cody is a little more worldly than most but there is still a level of innocence in him. Touching moment at the end between the sheriff and Cody. Gretchen

It seems the sheriff wants Cody to be informed about these things but he doesn't want him spending time on social media. He is doing his best to train this boy right. Cody seems to know a lot for a kid his age, thanks to the sheriff. I love the Cody stories.

Yes, sir, we live in a world of twisted minds, miserable human beings, or actually monsters, who are so unhappy that they just want to kill and maim others. I can't for the life of me figure out what that might do to make them feel better? Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed this story for the lessons the Sheriff was teaching his son. Interesting facts. It was well-written, but just a few comments on the style:

The last 5 paragraphs sound a little stilted because of the lack of contractions: that is, it is, what is, here is. You don't need contractions for all of them, but a few would sound more like natural speech.

Also, when putting a quote within dialog it should be set off by single quotes rather than double quotes, as in 'I'm owed whatever in this world, fill in your own blank, and I'm not getting it. Therefore, now I'm pissed off and it must be everybody else's fault. So, in retaliation, I'm going to randomly murder a bunch of people.'

More good Codey story. Sorry I had no SIXES as I say to some others count it as a virtual SIX! You present good arguments for limiting kids' access on puters and tv and games etc. No spags.

I know from news reports how sadly common such shootings are in the US. (We in Australia have very strict gun control, and such events here are extremely rare, often drug inspired. A recent one with three people killed was inspired by conspiracy theories (also less common here)). It's a sad world, having to explain such things to kids. Well written.

Thanks for sharing. A very frank discussion about an all-too-real problem. Did not relize these are characters from other works. I'll have to check that out sometime. Well done.

Our world is so bad right now. People don't have morals or reason anymore. I know everyone hasn't gone insane, but it certainly feels like it. You did a wonderful job with your writing. Until next time. Shirley
