An excellent poem, with a heavenly perspective on the position and role of the eartha nd of mankind, and his feeble efforts at mastering the earth. Very well written free verses! best wishes for the contest.

That is an interesting poem. Like a geology lesson in the beginning and environmental science lesson at the end. I have to admit, it looks like the earth is in a pickle, but it has been in a pickle before.

Yes, You are so correct, in some circles it is said that Earth is 192,000 years in the making and still going change.

The stanza with 'finiteness' needs an edit: (e/E)arth. Otherwise, the punctuation and stanza spaces seem to have been nailed.

Very tight free verse weave, worded as concise as possible.

Nice.

This is a very powerful free verse entry to this contest. The text is a great size. The message while disturbing is stated with crystal clear clarity. Your message of how Mother Nature is upset and how we ignore the signs is clearly stated. I wish praying would change things. Many are praying daily with no betterment arriving.
Your poem needs better spacing. You have more space at the bottom than top. With a more even spacing around your poem it will present better. Go to the end of the last line and hit back space twice. Now you have a better frame of space around your poem.
Your visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

There are several layers of rock on this earth, the outer layer is called the crust. Below the crust is a solid rock called Mantle; then the core. The outer core is a mixture of iron and metal. The inner core is solid metal. When you fly over the Grand Canyons and there is an abundance of Rocky Mountains below. It was amazing to read your poem; great information.

I enjoyed this imaginative free verse very much, finding it rich in imagery. It made me think that there is not much future for us, or even Earth as we are determined to take the land to our death with us. kay

I think man at least since Jules Verne and H.G..Wells wrote the the early sci fi pieces, man has thought our true hope lies out there in the cosmos, however, it would take so long to get there, advancing science would need a solution, well done, this is beautifully written my friend, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

    Roy my friend thank you!
1.) It's was projected the global population hit 8 billion in 2022.
2.) Researchers estimate that 109 billion people have lived and died over the course of 192,000 years.
3.) And that 7% of all humans who have ever lived are alive today.
That is a lot humans for Mother earth to provide shelter, food, water and basic necessitaties ... I like God's plan, that is specifically why I look the heavens, I am more than confident that God's plan is working.

And recorded history is only 6,000 years, I looked up the quantity of people that have lived and died, and there are various estimates. I don?t know what model they use. I wrote an article on historical ?facts? sometime ago, and cited man?s propensity to tell ?porkies?, ((embellishing the truth) so what to believe? Depends what biased eyes are looking. But God knows, I trust little of what man says, it?s biased anyway, good talking with you.

This is an interesting write as the centuries old galaxy is a wonder and the rocks we walk upon have morphed over time and I live on a rock and can sometimes see the layers as man has carved into the rock and each layer has taken years to form, the difference colours and textures are fascinating. Our earth is so precious, a fine write, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. Yes, we have a limited amount of natural resources and we aren't doing a very good job of saving them. I'm not sure what the answer is, because I'm pretty sure we haven't come up with a solution, yet.

I found this poem extremely thought provoking. The author's words made
me stop and think! The poem is engaging, strong, descriptive and creative.
I really liked the last stanza which suggestions were excellent. The artwork is awesome and compliments these words well.
