It is interesting that you've personally known three people who were murdered. I can't think of anyone I've personally known in my long life who were murdered. I've known a couple who committed suicide. Except for Cathy, it seems the murderer wasn't known. It this case, even he didn't pay directly for his crime. I got a chuckle out of your Mom making rose clean her mouth with soap. I remberber being threatened with the soap when I repeated some words I'd heard my dad use.

Mary, this was really sad but compelling. This kind of stuff drives me crazy. Frankly I think too many investigators give up too quickly. I read about a story last year when I was writing The Will of Louis Creed on FanStory and I put it in my book. A young couple was murdered in a remote lovers lane are and the killer/ rapist was never found until recently. The sheriff never gave up and saved the evidence and matched the DNA to a man in another state. When they found him, he was dead. His three kids helps law enforcement and offered their DNA. Voila, it was him. At least they had closure.
More of this needs to be done. I'm so sorry about your friend. It makes my heart ache that these creeps get away with murder.
Sending you my best,

Thank you Sally, I appreciate you taking the time to read about my murders. I imagine Deacon's killer was caught when the crackdown came on organized crime or he met the same fate as his victims.
Best wishes,

Wow, three murders close to you is quite amazing. I was mesmerized as I read along. I can't even imagine what it would have been like. I can understand that Cathy haunts you the most. Ulla:)))

What a really sad story, I can understand why Cathy haunts you most. I'm glad her killer was killed, I could see him getting away with it. It's sad that she is still out there somewhere. You've seen a too many murders in your life. This story would have done well in a true story contest. If I say I enjoyed reading it, that sounds wrong, but I have to say I was glued to the page and it was superbly written. Well done. :)) Sandra xx

This is horrifying. No wander even after all these years, there are those things that remind you of them. To know of three individuals within a few years of each other tragically killed. Im sure that it took strength to write this.

Interesting and sad story. You used great descriptions to help tell this. That is tragic, the three murders. I would imagine that it would haunt a person years later, well maybe not haunt, but definitely to stay with a person when you hear or see sad reminders. Thank you for sharing.

Such an interesting but sad story. I think he one death that got me the most was also Cathy. Such a terrible thing to happen to someone. Terrible to say that it still occurs today in spite of the help that is out there now. Very well written, thank you for sharing. The photo you chose was of course perfect made it all more real.

How horrible and tragic! I lost three classmates one summer in high school. They were in two separate car accidents, though, and were not murdered.
I can understand why things would remind you of them, especially Cathy.
Thank you for sharing.

This was very interesting, and seems as if they were all deliberately murdered, its a shame these cases are unsolved despite many who have found answers due to todays forensic science.
