Good example of the literary technique of allusion. You also used a strong simile to create an interesting image. This appears to take a surprise turn. The reader will enjoy it.
The reader will be back.

A very unique story seen through the eyes of a bear who enjoyed his freedom as well as the demolishment of a furry animal. I drew an interest in your first paragraph, which I'm sure would be as interest as well.

About a dog, not a bear. However, do appreciate the review.

Well, Mr. Number 5 Scriptwriter of the year 2019!!!, what did the FS powers that be, do to you? It seems that you're back in fine fettle. And yet, you left the poor dog (Buck?) needing sleep but afraid to succumb.
I did read The Call of the Wild but so long ago it is but a book I remember having read. Cute picture of the boy.
Well, if you've been away, welcome back. I remember reading you and I liked what you wrote.

I liked your telling of the story from the perspective of a dog. I am confused with the opening paragraph. First, are you planning on this being part of the opening chapter of your book? I've only been a member of Fanstory for a year and a half and, although I'm familiar with The Call of the Wild, I am not familiar with the Fanstory CEC. Sorry, but you lost me there. Second, at the end of the paragraph, I wasn't sure if you were speaking, or the dog was speaking. Again, it may be me, but the first paragraph detracted from the rest of the story. Otherwise, I liked it. Thanks for sharing your work. Good luck and stay well.

Great story. Your words flowed well to make this have more meaning to it. I enjoyed reading it. I thought that it was interesting that you wrote the story, as told by the dog. This was a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing.

Had to reread three times but finally caught on to this is a dog's story. Does he have a name for himself? You make it sound like he has a reason to dislike the staff of Fanstory and that isn't possible. So, ignoring whatever the first paragragh is about, from the second paragraph on you have a good dog's story.

Oh, it is very possible to "dislike the staff of Fanstory" whether one is a dog or not. Appreciate the review.

I didn't pick up that this was a story about a dog until about one third of the way down. It is an interesting story especially as told from the dog's pov.
One observation: you wrote "Off in the distance, I observe pitched tents. Inside a trove of sleeping bags and backpacks." I'm not sure if you intended it, but, I believe, the last sentence is a sentence fragment.

That was fabulous! A story told by a dog. That will give us a different perspective. Now, is the dog, Buddy, or is it the boy in the picture. I thought all your descriptive imagery was very well done, you bring your readers right into the story straight away. Well done, I really enjoyed the read, :) Sandra xx

Now that was unexpected! Written from a dog's perspective. How very clever. A well composed and thoroughly enjoyable read. This is my favourite part,
"Open space, and personal freedom. These are two treasures I enjoy."
Ah, yes!

It took me a minute to realize it was the dog was the narrator. As the owner of two lovable smelly hounds, I couldn't help but chuckle when I got to him hunting and swimming and looked over at my two on the couch zonked out. The only time they move is if they hear a wrapper. I really enjoyed this.
