Well, I guess the lesson in this story is that the more things change, the more they stay the same! I know that's a quote, but I don't know who said it. It does seem to fit this scenario, though.

In 1849, French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote "plus Áa change, plus c'est la mÍme chose " ? the more things change, the more they stay the same?

Thank you! I'll have to remember that if I'm going to quote him.

I got lost a few times, mnemonic, and the confusion that followed, yet as you know how much I enjoy your humor, and the characters you create I thoroughly enjoyed this read, very well done****kahpot

I not sure what to make of this script other than older ladies are likely the ones who will repeat their superior knowleges at every opportunity and try to make you look stupid in the process.

I've depended on private transport for most of my great length of years, but I have had occasion to take bus rides, and no ride seems to go direct, they do several miles of meandering rides to get where your going. A very clever take on that, well done Bill, Blessings Roy

So different and so clever. This shows what a brilliant mind you have, Bill. Gotta admire Stella for memorizing the different routes. A careful read takes the reader back to the past: "I was talking to my professor at the university about an historic occurrence in the 19th century."
Good luck in the contest.

LOL, what a hoot! That crafty mind of yours leads your readers to a different dimension and reality. Rod Sterling would be proud to call this his own. Good thing he is dead. He might steal it from you! Very well done. Terry.

This is a super clever piece, Bill. If I understand it correctly, the leaps through time from the current to the future seem to be recurring for these men and women. An endless bus ride from past to future and back again, reappearing at the same bus stop in the same manner as different people with the same agendas. Best, JohnC

Thank you, John. I see it having a couple of scenarios which are similar and should cover readers' perceptions.

Hey Bill,
Good Morning!
You come up with the craziest things. Your muse is certainly busy thinking these things up. I think he must work all night and sleep during the day. I noticed the characters' names rhyming again... Stu and Dew-ey, Stella and Della. Then there's Stan the man. I'm not sure what century they are in, or what planet they are on. They may even be robots who have finally taken over the world! But bottom line, they are five strangers who like to eavesdrop. Stan was talking the nineteenth century. Stu was talking nineteenth street. Stella is in a time machine. Della and Dewey are ready to fight.
And all of a sudden, there's Country Joe and the Fish singing "Give me an "F"! .......... Woodstock! Talk about strangers!
Nicely penned for the Write A Script contest, Bill. I can tell, you have fun writing. And that's the way it's supposed to be.
Good Luck!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Thanks, Kimbob. The scene was originally much darker, and would have led to other scenes. I thought recent news events have probably exhausted readers' desire to read about more death.

I have a burning question. Why? Why in the actual hell did you choose to write this? What are you on? My head is now filled with smoke and clouds, my vision is blurred and I am no longer sure what century I am in, what planet I am on or anything of substance. Thank you very much.

Were you a secret assassin in your other life? I am fearful that you are out to destroy my membranes, to drive me insane. Ya gotta give me a break. Stop making sense out of nonsense. I don't know what to do.
