Thank you very much, a most understanding review. I also appreciate the good wishes. We write mainly for ourselves, of course, but polish and polish so that others can also experience what we are feeling.

What words indeed? But I feel you have the world turned around a bit, somehow. I don't think a writer should be driven primarily thinking to please the reader. Surely you write because you feel you have something to say. It is yourself above all who should feel elated by the act of creation. kay

You are absolutely right. I only write for myself, what is important, meaningful or challenging to me. Once written though, I do check that it's not boring or repetiious, because I want it to interest or inspire, challenge and move others, in the same way as I have been moved. Many times I have been delighted by something I have written, and others have not "got" it, and it makes me wonder why I didn't manage to communicate what I felt. So it's both, in the end. I never post something unless I have said what I want to say, but at the same time I want my communication to be effective. I love your thoughtful and honest comments, so thank you for reviewing!

I love the thought that you are speaking to writers. There are several words which motivate writers. I think inspire and honesty are a couple of words that everyone likes to see on paper. Good luck in the contest.

Nicely put together here, in a contest that definitely poses some thought.
The presentation is perfect. Very nice alliteration on the second line. It brings up the thought in my mind, as to whether we should write for ourselves or for contests. None the less, believe me I "get" it.

Thank you for a fine review. I always write primarily about what is meaningful and important to me, but contests often make me think, or provide an interesting topic, to get my mind going!

Agree, I voted for it. Mainly because it was the most well written. Plus, "fanstory money" keeps us writing.

This is a good entry into the 2-10-2 contest. The text is a great size. You pose a good question. If we knew that we would win most contest.
