A really fine poem, with many examples of people jumping to conclusions and speaking inappropriately and without thought as to the hurt they are causing. Fortunately there was one willing to speak out, in each case. Smooth rhyme and enter, well constructed. Best wishes for the contest.

A very interesting story poem that has a compelling message. You should never hurt anyone with words, or make fun of those disabled. Kindness and understanding is the way to go.

This is a beautiful story with a beautiful message. Perfect title for this.

We have to teach them young that the covers don't always match the books.

Good job here and I'm sorry for your loss. God Bless!

It's so important to teach your children compassion and empathy. I used to be to shy to stop people from picking on others. Over time I learned to speak up. This was a delightful poem that shows one person who has the courage to speak up can make a difference. Gretchen

I don't think you need the line-separation, it upsets the flow of your in-depth poem for the contest; best wishes in the contest. Many of your stanzas' are pertinent to the teachings of Jesus. 'Judge not, lest ye be judged." Today, no respect for aged or disabled (I'm in a w/chair) I just disregard these fools and when I'm out, always is my care dog with me - he makes me feel safer. Kxx

Kay, I'm especially sensitive to the feelings of others as I know you are, my sweet friend, because we are there. I remember once in the
BMW (Before My Wheelchair) days, seeing a car park in handicap with no sticker, when I really needed the spot, and was still trying to walk a few steps, but was hard. My husband got out of the car & put a big an 8X10 inch sign on his windshield that said, WHEN YOU PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SPOT, DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN KARMA COMES BACK AND BITES YOU IN THE ASS & PERMANENTLY PUTS YOU IN THAT SPOT!
Thanks my dear friend for your kind comments about this poem!

Similar to you; I parked right behind the truck and wouldn't move. He said "I only went to the bank!" I said "I went to the bloodbank nine times!" Was too angry to say anymore.

Do you have an electric chair? Mine cost $15,000 but I was able to put it through my aged care package.

I like the layout of this poem, 4-line stanzas followed by 2. Nicely rhymed with a nice, colorful presentation. I wish more people had a less judgmental eye of the beholder; it seems it has always been this way and all we can do is stand up for what's right.

Good luck in this contest.

Hi Pam, thanks Sweetie for the lovely review and comments. I appreciate it so very much. You are awesome. Thank you again my awesome friend.

Have you ever been so sure that you had written a thank you to someone and then the review comes back next time you come back to the site. This just happened me w about eight review and I have seen it happened before. Not that I don't want to do it again, lol, but just wondering if anyone else had this happen to. I am guessing that that it didn't save and I don't remember if I saw it say saved.

Good morning, dear:-) Hey, I want to make sure you have my email address for the future, as I am probably going to disappear from FanStory at the end of the month when my year is up. Anyway, its: fitknit@sbcglobal.net

As far as your review glitch goes, I've had various problems with this site, but they are usually contained within the editing box - text changing color or font size, that kind of thing. Another member gave me some tricks to "fix" things like that, although we shouldn't have to fix errors like this.

If this is the last time we "speak" here, please stay in touch and let me know when you're ready to walk that race. I'll wait for you:-)

    xx

It just happened again where I lost everything I wrote to you. Basically, it was how sorry I am to see you go, but how blessed I feel by having you for a friend, but us finding our mutual birthdates was no accident. It was meant to be and is a rare thing to add to a new friendship. In case I have any trouble getting a hold of you, I do text 612-518-4785 &

I have a marathon on my bucket list w you and there's only one way it's coming it's coming off and that is when we check it off! My best wishes for everything for you my twin friend! Talk soon!

I sure hope you do well with this poem. What a beautiful and meaningful story-like poem. Like someone (a friend) said earlier, we never know what the person is going through. Like your poem so much!

.Rosemary, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you on this. I was so sure I had responded to you and now, I am wondering if I forgot to hit save. I truly appreciate your lovely review and comments. And most certainly your wonderful gift of six stars. So once again I apologize for this being so late but also thanks again for the whole package deal

You have written a great social commentary poem here. You point out so many failings in how all kinds of people perceive others. The problem of course is how can we change that and make people more tolerant and more empathic? Until we find a way to get through to the uninformed we are doomed to failure.kay

Exactly. Well said, or written, take your pick, and yet I'd be willing to be nearly everyone had done something to the negative effective along the way, but of course, not me or you.

I have, I do and likely will. Whether it be the app or us something goes off key it seems occasionally. Then, as much as I appreciate the words, need we say thank you in the reply box AND the box for six stars?

This is a well written poem that fits the contest well. It teaches a good lesson on how people should and shouldn't act. I like the abstract artwork. It seems to match you last line, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

You are most kindly welcome, Debi.
Sometimes I make the mistake that I am on the review page and when I write the review and then skip to the next and hit save there. The previous review is erased.

I meant to say reply instead of review in the last sentence of that last reply
