This is a sweet book that almost any child would love to have read to them. I'm far from childhood but I enjoyed the story very much. It is well-written and the descriptions are vivid. Nice writing.

I liked reading this selection. I thought it would be even better with dialogue, even though I see how you are using the narrator voice to help tie action and thoughts together.
Here is a good line: She felt young again, strolling, listening to the wind cry as the cool air licked her face.

Though not back do have time to write a review.

It only takes one in a group to make everyone around them unconfortable (re Paragraph One).

Stand up to a bully, whether a two-legged variety, or a puppy. Best way to handle them.

Stormy proves to be no more than a troublemaker. Somethings never change.

"kettle of fish" is a cliche. Might be better if this could be somehow be reworded so it is not.

The problems arose when Bea returned sounds like the puppies were mad she left them alone.

Willow sounds like a good listener for the youngsters to vent to.

Probably do not need "the mom" after Bea. Her identity is well established by that point.

This was considered great, Liz, actually rather fantastic. I really appreciated your narrative notes for their honesty because they really told the truth. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n hugs!

Thank you for your involved, supportive review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. This is quite accurate. Zoe was responsible for Maureen having to put Annie down. So Zoe lived with Sweet Puppy & me, then when we moved in with Maureen, Zoe lived with Sherrie & Stormy. More to come.

I'm glad that Bea felt she could "be good to herself" and get out in the sunshine and leave Zoe together with Sweet Puppy. But Sweet Puppy doesn't have the skills of Stormy. I wonder how they did when Bea was out visiting Willow. I like how Stormy's previous experience equipped him for dealing with characters like Zoe and understood that Zoe just wanted to be loved.

Thank you for your wonderfully supportive review. This stuff actually did happen with Zoe & Annie & she was aggressive with my Sweet Puppy, who of course got in terrible fights with her around me. & she miraculously got along with Stormy.

Ah. Wish Stormy had given Sweet Puppy some training or tips!

That would have been good. But she was a fighter. I think it was an adrenaline fix for her...lol

Everyone is trying to help Zoe be a better puppy. She just wants too much love without loving back. Willow is a good character because she tries to help others by listening to their sorrows and not telling anyone, although it makes her sad for them.

Thank you for sharing this post with us. I really like the concept of the story and the use of vocabulary. Children will never learn it if they aren't exposed to it. You're doing a good job.

I enjoyed reading your story. I agree we do not need baby talk to reach four to sixth graders. Putting the issues in the animal world allows the reader to look at problems and solutions that do not get personal. There is no room for improvement. Have a blessed day.
