Aww, Barbara, you have made my day!! I was on FaceTime with my son and 1 yr. old granddaughter this morning and wrote this just afterwards. There's nothing like inspiration, is there??? LOL. Thanks so much!!

Well-written and could be put to a tune to sing as a lullaby. Have you done that already? It sounds from the poem as if this might have been written about someone close - a child or relative?

Melissa,
This is a very sweet children's poem, lovingly written.
The photo of the angelic child (is she one of yours)? is beautiful, and complements your tender words.
Good luck, Melissa.
Blessings,
Cindy

Hello Cindy. Thank you... I do have a 1 year Le granddaughter, but she is not the one pictured. I'm delighted that you like the poem :)

A sweet little companion to the picture with with a lilting lullaby appeal. The ballad metre works beautifully with this type of poem and given the right tune one can imagine the mother softly singling the baby to sleep.

Hello Jim... Yvonne said she could hear the music too. Perhaps, I will make up a tune and sing it to Rosalie :). Thank you.

This is a truly beautiful poem. It reads like a lullaby. It brings back such happy memories for me of singing and reading stories to my kids and grandkids at bedtime. I think this should do very well in the competition. There seems to be many entries in this catagory but this is the best one that I've read. Good luck. Jen.

What a wonderful lullaby this would make if put to music. I can hear it in my head. Anyone would love to hear this as they fall asleep. Good luck in the contest.

This poem, Sleep Little One, presented with four ABCB-rhymed quatrains, brings the readers to bedtime for baby and the steps that take her to rest in the arms of Morphias.

What a delightful entry for the children's poetry contest. I enjoy the rhyme, especially the internal rhyme in all the stanzas. Lovely image of the child asleep with his favorite teddy bears. I like "sail to sleep" too. Such a caring mother, there to rock away her child's fears. I think you could dispense with some of those commas, such as those in the next to the last line. judi
