Hello, K!
I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated your poetic offering.
Fascinated by the rites of manhood by the tribal aborigines...as well as your description of other rites as well.
Rhymes flow well = not forced.
Best wishes in the rhyming contest.

Thank you for sharing!

This is a good entry for the rhyming poem contest. I always enjoy that you write about the bush and its people. They are honoured by your tributes. I like how this story talks of the traditions held when a boy becomes man with ceremony and paint. A well written story on growth, marriage and love.

I enjoy reading about other cultures. We can learn so much from them. This happy couple move from childhood to adulthood in ceremony and in love. Great story.

Excellent poem entry for the Rhyming Poetry Contest. Your poem reminded me of I a fanstory Australian writer, named Walu feral. He wrote about his life and culture.

The rhymes and meter didn't seem forced and it flows well.

the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

I Would recommend it.

I think poetry comes from the heart, thus the healing. The head tends to force poetry. Glad you enjoyed. I remember Walu, he was found in a cave and raised by a tribe. His work was excellent. K xx

This is a lovely tale of a boy becoming a man and then getting married. Your vivid use of words makes the reader feel like she is there during this ceremony on manhood. Love the names Narwee and Jannali, sun and moon are a great complement to each other.

The opportunity to learn of the cultural practices others, is to grow as an individual. To do so without feeling disdain for practices that are vastly different from your own, is to grow as one spiritually and culturally advanced. Only and unlearned fool considers himself superior to another human being, all the while considering himself a child of the God that created all men. What I just learned updated my knowledge base and made me feel even closer to people I had previously known very little about.

Good poem. This is well written. Nicely done. Your rhyming pattern was nicely done and the poem flowed smoothly. Than you for sharing. The artwork went well with your poem.

Such a well-written, informative poem. The line about the gum tree (good choice) made me think it would be Australian and about Aborigines, but they have a boy-to-man initiation ceremony in Maori culture too and I don't know much about that, so I wasn't 100% sure until I read your notes which it referred to.

It's interesting - different cultures and their customs. Thanks for educating me.
