What a lovely gift for your Grandson to give you for the past two Christmas's. My G.D. has given me 365 books, where you write each day, either to their question, or whatever comes to mind. I loved this read and it is good to find out a bit more about you. Thanks for sharing Yvonne, looking forward to more.
cheers,
valda

Hello Yvonne,
I'm glad you're finally feeling comfortable with sharing your story. It can be intimidating to put yourself out there for criticism. I think that it's a good move to let the Fan Story family take a peek at it first. For the most part, they are pretty supportive, and I suppose you'll get honest feedback. I was in Scotland and England in the navy, and I love what I saw of Scotland in particular. I love Celtic music. I think I have all of Enya's music and a number of songs from Celtic Thunder. I had several DVD's of Michael Flattley's River Dance Irish dance-that was stirring! I'll see about sending you a Celtic CD or two one of these days. Thanks for sharing gal.
Have a blessed day.

We may all seem somewhat odd to others who haven't experienced or been taught from the same people, but odd only means different from what someone might be used to. LOL. I liked this and look forward to reading more. Thanks for sharing.

That's exactly what my father said. Thanks for reviewing, and the encouragement.

This is an exciting piece. I believe animals get their instincts from DNA. I had not thought about that in people. I need to ponder on that, it gives me food for thought for today. I thank you for that. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

My wife was Scottish. She had a double first cousin who played the bagpipes at our family reunion. He played at policemen's funerals etc. in Little Rock. Good people.

I wish I knew how to play them. A few years ago, one of our young priests was learning how. I bet it's expensive. Thanks for the stars!

A very interesting and informative piece. I have heard about inherited knowledge, and it is quite fascinating. I would like to learn more about it. I enjoyed your writing very much, and am certainlylookng forward to more.

I love it.
Heritage can be a tricky nut to crack especially if hasn't been handed down through generations.
I applaud you for taking steps to share a proud heritage and wish you well on your journey.
Blessings

Think it would be interesting to have the DNA test to learn about your ancestry. I have never done that. You probably weren't surprised that you were 87% Scottish, given your ancestors' stories. I haven't heard much about inherited knowledge, but it's interesting to think about. Be proud of your Scottish ancestry. I love the sound of bagpipes. judi

I'm so glad you like them, too. Many people don't which puzzles me.

Is Stewart your grandson?
This was marvelous, Yvonne, and as much as I simply can't find the time I would like to spend here, I will be very sad to miss any of these stories. My ancestry is Celtic too -- Scottish and Irish -- and reading this explains some of the strange stirrings I have felt from time to time as well. :)

Stewart is my youngest son. Thanks for reviewing. You sound like you're leaving FS.
-
No, I'm not planning to leave, I just have many projects on the go, so DO remind me when you post a story, if you can, yes?
-
Yes.🥰
Comment from Mary Shifman
Actually, I don't think it is odd at all. I also believe in genetic memory. I have the same feelings about Ireland. I didn't grow up hearing Irish music or accents, but I have always been drawn to that little country. There is nothing like Irish music to get my heart singing.
