This was so poignant a read. And the repetition of this poetry format made it even more so. I loved this and voted for this. You have my 6 stars for it.

June, this is a stellar write with excellent use of refrains that create an energetic flow to the whole poem. The ship is just the perfect cherry atop a sundae!

What a wonderful read and form as it flows so very well, it reads as a sad love story, yet filled with joy and hope, to keep within the rules of this form looks quite difficult though this poem tells us a story, very well written****kahpot

This is not my favourite form but your subject matter here seems so appropriate for the repeated lines and you did an amazing job with a form that is not easy to write in. A fearful trip on the ocean as duty calls and the ship sails with love and hope on board, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Your poem read well, June. I liked the way you
formatted your lines, the word choices, the image,
and how you summed it all in the last verse using
the required words. You told a great little story.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

When she seen it was it actually coming or going wondering minds want to know. War is hell at any given time when called upon to go out and defend one's homeland. United We Stand or else we will fall.

This is one of the hardest repeating forms of poetry I have ever seen. You did a splendid job, dear June. The art was a perfect choice.

Sending you my best today as always and virtual six for this magnificent piece.

I am not a real big fan of this format. But listening to it is a whole lot better than trying to read it. And then, when you get to the final stanza, it begins to make some sense. Of all the ones that I've tried to read before non-seem to really make a lot of sense, but this one really does. The woman in the story poem was sending her man off to see during war and then seeing him return. Thank you for sharing. Patricia.

June,

This a brilliantly written Paradelle poem contest entry. Your story telling skills are boldly presented in this creative and compelling write. The imagery is concise and paints a striking picture of a couples tested love story from the first line of the opening stanza to its apt conclusion in the final line of last stanza. Well done.

All the best in the contest,

Eugene

This is a fine paradelle poem. It fits the proper structure as outlined.

The story told reminded me of Christopher Columbus and Queen Isabella.

Nicely done and fun to read.
