You did a good job with this piece. Word count spot on as well.

The only thing I would say is to have a little look at your presentation. I'd insert clear lines between the paragraphs and dialogue for clarity.

This is an amusing story about a not so amusing subject. The punch line is funny, unless you have a drunk for a son. It has taken 10 years to get his life together.

HaHa - I got it in the end. I have to read it twice but then the penny dropped. I like that this has a different and amusing ending.
