Ah...the ole GPS blues. I think most of us can relate to this. The first time I realized GPS wasn't infallible was in downtown Atlanta where the tall buildings blocked its signal. Fortunately, it was easy to navigate and I ended up not needing it.
Great rant! Best of luck in the contest!

Mary, I have not stopped laughing and I'm not sure how I am typing this. This is an absolute scream! I am amazed how you our described yourself so honestly. It's scary how stress can make us do the unthinkable.
Except for the grace of God....
Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the rant. A ribbon winner, for sure.

I know that was quite an ordeal for you, so forgive me laughing. The swearing, screaming, and begging God are the things I would have done, too. Sometimes, we just need swear words, don't we?

You are right, I think getting mad, probably kept me sane! Thank you for the review.

LOL, this is an excellent rant! Who among us has not had a problem with technology? A very few I would venture to offer. My car recently gave me a notice that an update was available for my GPS. All I had to do was connect it to my wi-fi, and the update would be automatic.
The only problem is that my wi-fi is in my condo...four floors above my car, which is in the garage. So no update. Well done. Terry.

Thank you Terry, I appreciate your review. We, until recently, avoided "smart" TV's until we had no choice. My hands were painful, trying to get that darn thing to work. I finally realized that I did not have to hook it up to my computer.

Oh dear, Mary, I wouldn't have liked to be in your shoes when that was taking place, but l'm sure you now laugh at that experience. Although it was a nightmare at the time. I think we've all got a tale to tell about those gadgets, I don't use them. Mind you, I don't drive long distance. I really enjoyed your story, and laughed when you said your sister had put it on silent mode, which she would do at a funeral. I'm glad you made it home in one piece and your hubby's blood-pressure didn't shoot off the chart! Lol. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra, I appreciate your review and I am glad you enjoyed our trip. Putting the phone in silent mode was quite accidental, it was the way she held the phone, that silenced it.
Thank you again.

Oh my goodness Mary, this was a journey from hell and at least your heightened temper kept you awake at the wheel. The GPS can be a challenge at times and thankfully I rarely use it. Getting lost when it's going dark is a scary thing and that welcome sign soothes your soul. Glad you arrived home safely. I remember after having a medical procedure, I took the bus home and I was still under for influence of the anaesthetic, I almost fell on the bus and I couldn't wait to get home to safety as it was getting late and it was dark. My family were not happy I took the bus and said I should have taken a taxi, but the bus was there and I got on it! I enjoyed your story Mary and I am glad to hear your swearing was not too bad! Ha ha ha, love Dolly x

Nicely written. Good work.
My wife and I drive 30-40,000 miles per year, all over the country. We could tell you some doozies of GPS stories.
On yours, someone might have toggled the 'no freeway' switch. Or 'no toll road' switch.
Best wishes.

I know all about yelling at the phone for guidance. I most hate when the GPS says "Turn around." I agree with your rant. You can't always rely on Google or Waze to get you to your destination in the shortest amount of miles. I enjoyed your humorous artwork. I'm going back to Map Quest on the computer. Best wishes in the contest.
